About an hour later, she walked back into the bedroom, kicking off her stilettos and making sure she knew where they were this time. She grinned a little, seeing him sleeping, and slid in beside him, trying not to giggle as he slipped his arms around her in his sleep. She wriggled a bit closer, pulling the blanket up around them, and he stirred lightly, his arms around her comfortably. She smiled softly and slipped her arms up around his neck, her lips lightly grazing his neck as she rested her head on his shoulder. He stirred a little more, shifting slightly, adjusting himself around her, before opening his eyes slowly, "You're back." She nodded a bit, looking up at him wordlessly and he leant in, kissing her forehead gently, brushing her fringe back behind her ears.
She smiled a little, "Well, the surprise is done. We're due to leave tomorrow afternoon." He frowned slightly, "I thought we were getting married first." She smirked a bit, "Ah, but that is where my surprise comes into play, although you'll have to wait and see what it is." He pouted slightly, giving her puppy dog eyes, "Please tell me?" Giggling, she shook her head and he grinned a little, his arms around her waist. "Well I'm sure it'll be a wonderful surprise."
She poked him gently, "Do you want anything to eat? I think you should at least get up." He nodded a bit, wriggling closer to her, his arms around her, making no attempt to move, "Mmm, maybe take a bath or a shower." She grinned a bit, "Yes, and maybe get dressed too." She attempted to get up and he let out a low growl, his arms tightening around her. "You're not going anywhere without me." She giggled a bit, "Well you're going to have to have a shower or bath soon, what are you going to do then?"
He snuggled closer, "I don't know, maybe you should help me decide that one?" She giggled more, her head resting under his chin, her fingertips pressing lightly into his shoulder, "Maybe you should have a bath." He held her close, kissing her forehead gently, "Sounds alright to me." She smiled a little and sat up slightly, pulling him up with her. "Do you want me to run it for you?" He nodded and she got out of the bed, helping him up, supporting him slightly as she led him into the bathroom.
He sat on the edge of the bath as she pushed in the plug and turned on the taps, sitting up on the counter, her legs dangling over the side. He grinned a little and she smirked, leaning back against the mirror before uncorking a bottle and adding a splash of it to the running water. The bubbles started slowly before rising in huge, fluffy, cloud-like peaks. He blushed slightly, " you turn around and cover your eyes?" She blinked before realising, and blushed also. "Of course." She closed her eyes, covering them with her hands and waited until she heard a soft splash and the settling of the bubbly water before opening them again.
He grinned a bit, scooping up a handful of bubbles and blowing them at her. She smirked and did the same, shrieking as he splashed when she came near the edge of the tub. He laughed and stopped, gesturing to her to sit. She made to sit on the edge of the tub before eyeing him suspiciously, "Are you sure you're not going to pull me in?" He crossed his fingers under the bubbles as he put on an innocent look, "Who me? Never." She grinned and perched gingerly on the edge. The second her guard was down, he grabbed her and pulled her in with him. She shrieked, splashing everywhere and he laughed. "You promised!" He grinned, "It's called finger-crossing."
She pouted slightly, before shivering, "It's cold when you're wet." He pulled her into his lap, his chin resting on her shoulder gently, giving her puppy-dog eyes. She laughed and hit him playfully, "Oh really." He grinned a little and leant back against the tub, "So what's this surprise you're organising?" She giggled, "I can't tell you, but I'm hoping you'll like it." He nudged her gently, "I'm sure I will, if you're organising it."
She leant in, her lips mere inches from him and the phone started ringing. Hissing between her teeth, she untangled herself from his arms and heaved herself out of the bathtub. He chuckled as she stomped across the floor to the door and vanished through it. Sighing, he leant back, relaxing in the warm water, listening to the faint sounds of her talking, trying to figure out what language she was speaking in. All of a sudden, she spoke clearly and he could overhear snatches of the conversation. " best two." He smirked a bit, slightly disappointed when she hung up and he sat up a little, waiting for her to come back in.
A few moments later she did so, her tiny frame dwarfed by a downy azure bathrobe. She grinned a bit, "Thought I should get out of my wet clothes before I caught a cold." He grinned back. "Well, if you could hand me that towel up there, I will get out. No peeking." He waggled a finger playfully at her and she giggled, "Yes sir." She set the towel down on the counter and flitted out of the bathroom. He heaved himself awkwardly out of the tub and dried off, wrapping the towel around his waist before opening the door adjoining her room.
She watched him from her sprawled position on the bed. He grinned and sat down next to her, "So when do we leave for this surprise?" She grinned and sat up, "Tomorrow afternoon, which means we need to start packing now. I don't know where I should send my things that aren't coming with us." He nuzzled her gently, "Send them to my apartment, they can stay there until you decide properly." She threw her arms around him, "I'm so glad you're practical." He grinned a bit, teasing, "Well, someone has to be, and you being you and all." She laughed and hit him playfully, "Come on Romeo, we have packing to do."
He grumbled playfully as she dragged him into his room and gave him a gentle push towards the closet, flopping onto his bed. "Are you taking everything with you, or will you send some of your things with mine?" He frowned slightly, rummaging through his half-unpacked suitcase, "Maybe I'll send some things back. I don't really want to be carrying all these things around." She nodded, pulling an empty suitcase out from the back of the closet, "Put it all in there and I'll make sure it goes back. He tilted his head slightly at her, "How long will we be gone for?" She smirked, "Not more than a few weeks, then we'll fly back to Australia."
He grinned and tossed the heaviest clothing into the empty suitcase, including his dinner suit. Her brow furrowed in consternation but she quickly changed her expression before he caught it. When he'd finished throwing clothes into the empty suitcase she grinned, "Now I'll take this and fill it with some of my things." He nodded and she pulled it down the hallway behind her. "I wonder what she's up to." he mused.
She took out his dinner suit and pulled her own empty suitcase out of the wardrobe, tossing in the shoes she was taking with her before carefully folding it up and placing it over them. She gently laid the delicate gown she'd bought earlier on top, before tossing the other clothes on top haphazardly. She swept everything out of the closet and crammed it into the suitcase on top of his clothes, leaving out two changes of clothes. She shed her bathrobe and crammed it in too, slipping on her nightdress, sighing when she saw how much else she had to pack. She crammed the books into every available space and tossed her makeup bag in the bag she was to take with her. Looking around the room she sighed a little, "I'm really going to miss this place."
She wandered out to the kitchen and found him standing there, browsing the takeaway menus. She grinned and leant on the counter next to him, "Exactly what I was thinking." He held out a menu to her and she took it, looking over it before shrugging, "I don't mind really, you tell me what you want and we can order it." He grinned a bit and shrugged, "I don't mind really." She frowned slightly, "I don't know what we should have. Pizza again?" He leant down, his chin on her shoulder, his arms around her waist, "That's a good idea." She shivered slightly at his voice in her ear and nodded, "I'll call now."
She picked up the phone and he padded into the lounge, curling up on one of the couches, listening to her soft English-accented Norwegian with a smile. He sunk lower into the cushions, watching the door. She poked her head around the door and giggled, flitting towards him and seating herself on the other end of the couch, "They should be here soon." He nodded, poking her gently with his foot and she jumped a little stifling her giggles, pouting ever so slightly. "That's not very nice." He reached out, tugging her gently into his lap, her legs dangling out over the edge of the couch, "I'm always nice to you." She leant her head against his shoulder, her warm breath tickling his neck, "I know you are. Otherwise, how could we have gotten this far?"
The doorbell rang and she jumped a little before getting up to answer it, her icy politeness distinguishable even through the language barrier. She kicked the door shut gently, pushing the lock with her elbow and depositing the pizza on the table in front of him before flittering to the kitchen and returning with plates and napkins. She handed him one of each and he opened the boxes, grinning a little. She sat down beside him, reaching over and taking a slice of pizza. He did the same and for a few minutes there was silence.
After they had eaten all of the pizza, they carried their plates to the kitchen and she stacked them in the dishwasher while he got rid of the pizza boxes. He mock-bowed to her, "I will now retire to my room to finish packing neatly." She giggled and curtseyed slowly, "And I will retire to my room to sleep most likely." He grinned a bit and reached out, pulling her to him in a hug. She hugged back and he smiled, dropping a light kiss on her forehead. "Sweet dreams." She smiled a little as he walked her to her door and before he could walk away she caught him by the arm. He turned, slightly startled, and she leant up, kissing him softly on the lips, "Goodnight." He smirked and walked down to his room, shutting the door behind him and she went into her room, shutting the door and making for the bed.
She yawned softly, curling up on her bed against the wall, snuggling down under the covers. A slight tap at the door caught her attention and she looked up, smiling a little as the door opened and she saw him in his pyjama bottoms, standing there. "Can I come in?" She nodded and he walked over to her, slipping in beside her. She wriggled over, resting her head on his shoulder and he slipped his arm around her as she yawned softly, closing her eyes. He leant up, being careful not to disturb her, and flicked off the light, pulling the curtains above their head shut before slowly drifting off to sleep.
