"God told me."
This just kept getting weirder and weirder. "Hey, maybe this is all a dream. We'll know for sure if the streets become paved with Salvador Dali paintings."
"You like Dali? Dude, that's awesome! My best friend…" He trailed off and started to cry again.
"No, not really. Now can you please control yourself?"
"It's… good to… let out your… emotions."
What a load of crap. "If you say so. Now let's get going."
"How? You didn't believe me about the sign idea."
Where did he get the idea, anyway? "But it's the only idea we have."
"So you're… we're… going to use my idea?"
"I guess we kind of have to."
"Thank you so much; you have no idea what that means to me." He hugged me.
I pushed him away. That was a bit weird. "Yeah, yeah, we'll use it, we'll use it. Uh... get your seatbelt on."
"Thank you."
"Just put the damn seatbelt on."
"Definitely. Right away, Captain."
He saluted. I gave him a strange look. "Just stop, okay?"
"Oh… okay, sorry." He looked disappointed'
"So where to first?" I tried to lighten the mood.
It didn't work. "Whatever." He stared out the window.
Ugh. I didn't want to do it, but it would have to be done. "What's the matter?"
"Whatever."
"What's' the matter?" I was trying to be nice, couldn't he tell?
"Well, it's a longs story.
"Fine, don't' tell me then," I started the car.
'Okay, I'll tell you." He grinned.
I rolled my eyes. "Shoot."
