Day on the Beach

While walking in the warm sand,

The wind blew, tasting of land.

Seagulls flew, seeming weightless

So white and beautiful, I was breathless.

Upon entering the great, swaying ocean

After bathing in sunlotion,

I meet cold soldiers battling in foam

Ignoring all who peacefully roam.

Children, in the distance, laugh and play

Their parents snuggle closely, all fears far away.

My heart warms at such a sight,

Love is so innocent, so pure, and so white.

As the sunsets, it is time to part.

I sigh sadly with a heavy heart.

Even if you were never here,

The sea's beauty made you seem near.
