Prologue

Stars glitter

Above a lake of shimmering silver water

The full moon shines

down upon the gentle flowing river

as its water flows into the calm lake

The light breeze feels like

your warm tender breath upon my neck

Warming my heart.

Unlike the cool night,

The water feels so warm,

Like your soft hands gliding over my skin.

As I swim in the water,

I feel you all around me.

Your gentle touch,

All over my untouched body.

Whoever you may be,

Please come rescue me

My empty soul has yet to be filled;

Has yet to be caressed,

By the loving hands,

Of you,

My destinee.

I stand in the middle of a solitude field

With my hands at my sides,

My silver dress blows in the gentle wind

As I stand waiting,

Waiting for you to come find me

Waiting for you to save me

from the only thing I've ever known-

Loneliness.

My heart beats slowly,

Losing its hope as each beat dies

There's nothing left for me to wait for

Nothing left for me to live a solo life for,

Anymore.

Whoever you are,

Please come rescue me

My empty soul has yet to be filled;

Has yet to be caressed,

By the loving hands,

Of you,

My destinee.

Although we've never met

I know you search for me too.

Our souls cry out to each other,

Making our hearts ache,

When we see others who are content,

With their already-found love,

By their side.

My life goes on as I stand to watch

The serenity of the scenes is like

nothing I'm ever touched.

But something I've felt

When I sensed you near.

So close.

Whoever you may be,

Please come rescue me

My empty soul has yet to be filled;

Has yet to be caressed,

By the loving hands,

Of you,

My only destinee.

The sweet music of the ending of the song drifted out of the radio in the large bedroom and through the open double-doors to the balcony. A silent figure stood at the railing and looked down upon the dazzling city before him. His deep azure eyes gazed on the city as the warm gentle breeze ruffled his black hair and his collared shirt. The unbuttoned, loose collar of his shirt caressed his cheek as he closed his eyes and listened to the soft sounds of the violin that closed the song. When there was only silence, he let out a small breath and opened his eyes. Gazing upon the city for a few seconds longer, he returned to the brightly-lit room, closing the doors behind him. A few minutes later the lights clicked off and all was dark, save for the city beneath the balcony.
