I'm on the outside looking in
With my face pressed up against the glass.
The intriguing people,
The different colors,
They blur as they pass
And I'm left alone
Behind the glass.
I could pound my fists
Until they tear and bleed
But no one would notice me.
And even if they did,
They'd still have to pass
Because I'm hopelessly trapped
Behind the glass.
I could cry and scream
Until my voice crumbled
But it wouldn't matter,
This glass doesn't shatter.
It keeps me from the ones who pass
While I writhe and wail
Behind the glass.
I could quiet the voices
And take the leap,
But this wall of protection
Is now an infection
It keeps me from the ones who pass.
I'm left to die
Behind the glass.
