Who Am I?
I am the First and I will be the last,
You know me, respect me, just as always,
In this never ending line,
Like the cat of nine lives I will go on,
You will remember me, for I share your pain, your sorrow, your happiness,
In all its up and downs,
I foresee your joy and your pain,
Yet, I will not stop you until the end.
Who Am I?
I am the herald of Life, stepping before, for if it were not for me, you would not exist,
For until I pass you will not come,
Then I follow you, and lead you, like a hungry tiger,
And you scramble for every borrowed moment of which you owe me,
For I wait for you in this game of cat and mouse,
I shadow your every move, and without me you do not move forward,
Though you choose which path you will tread,
And I follow silently like your shadow, just before you, just behind you, right beside you.
Who am I?
I am also the only soldier of death, waiting for you with jagged tooth and poison claw,
Ready to slash, to maim, to kill, to wear you away with slow decay,
To slow you down, dim you eyes, and send stress upon your heart,
A decay that not even the mighty mountains can escape,
For they will wear away, and I will forever stand,
Like the mighty mountain, I will stay unmoved,
But fly free the mighty eagle,
And rule all like the lion in all its majesty.
Who am I?
I am the one who controls when the sun with its mighty fire will go down and rest,
Until I will the moon to take her place,
You try and run backward, to the time you knew before, but you cannot,
Because I block your way,
I live in the past and see your every mistake and fault,
But I live in the present, snatching away ever moment, before another moment lapses,
Until you realize there is no going back,
Or you die facing things long passed.
Who am I?
I am one who sees the future in its glory and in its hate,
And I see your part in it, and I know you cannot run away and escape your fate,
For even as I continue, you will go on,
Until my time to satiate my never ending hunger is here,
Then I will strike you down and then continue on,
And lead on this unforgiving cycle,
Until your family, your relatives, your friends, and your descendants are gone,
And even then I shall remain.
A/n: Can you guess what this is talking about? For those of you in Spirit Guardians it's a bonus stat point if you guess what it is correctly. Anyways, I have no idea where this poem/riddle whatever you want to call it came from really. This is just a poem I decided to write for a Writer's Workshop I've been attending.
