Lover's Ties
Pulsing within her veins, the blood twists and turns,
Her heart pounding against its imprisonment, tears flowing from her eyes
Upon the ground before her, his scattered body lies,
The pieces she had gathered, marred by tiny burns

Custom begged a proper ending, organs neatly in their urns,
She refused to let him go, with her heart's silent cries,
Drawing out a magic spell, formed from lover's ties,
Power ripples from her hands, the blood within her churns.

Her husband who for years she sought,
Would live for one more night,
Returning at dawn to the World of the Dead,

Through their child, revenge was brought
A winged god with kingly might,
And Egypt he then lead.

Done for an english project in school, it's a Petrarchal sonnet, rhyme scheme ABBA ABBA CDE CDE. We had to pick a pair of lover's to write about; I chose Isis and Osiris.

Please give me feedback, as much as possible, because I need to know what I need to work on/change before I turn it in. ^.^*

Thanks!
