A Lover's Tale

They say God laughs at lover's lies
As they hide behind their false disguise
But they truly mean well
When they do not tell
The truths within that will soon arise

And eventually each will come through
To realize the other feels the same way too
Then happiness will follow
Struck by Cupid's golden arrow
For in their hearts they always knew

But their love will fade until one day
It will become only a distant memory
All hope will be lost
At their own cost
And each will go on their own way

Although love doesn't always last forever
Each will learn from their great endeavor
That love can cause pain
But no love is in vain
For that is the key to life's greatest treasure
