I'm out of my depth,
Way too far above sea level to breathe.
Surely this is one realm
Humans were not meant to invade.
But an omnipotent God by definition
Cannot be proved wrong.
We were meant to be here.
I stare out the window,
Thoughts on existence, on Being.
Hairline fractures appear on the sky.
My world breaks apart, reforms
Times beyond counting
It changes, shifts, yet stays the same.
Waves of the Heavens crash around me,
Swirling, churning clouds that are the sea.
The night sky litters the ground played out before me.
An infinite number of stars and worlds tossed away,
Dotting the terrain like so many pebbles.
My mind explodes with light, with understanding.
It's fleeting, edging away from my mortal frame of reference.
I shift back to the present.
I'm back on the three-dimensional plane
Inhibited by gravity once more,
I close my eyes to contemplate my vision
Before realization comes
I slip into another dream.
