Greenery surrounded her. The lushness of the grass under her feet and the small droplets of water she could feel against her foot as she ran across the beautiful gardens, her face joyful and her eyes dancing.
The woman inside the child smiled when the delight of the child took over her senses as well. The child ran to the house where her big strong father picked her up and swung her around in a circle, and then kissed her cheek. She giggled. His beard tickled her chin!
Turning to his right, she could clearly see a fragile and beautiful woman approach them. Her mother smiled at their cheerful daughter and murmured "Hello, my sunshine…"
Behind them, she saw a movement, a strange black creature run passed the bushes, but being a child, she ignored it...
And that where everything went all wrong…the woman within the child felt the tears catch in her throat as she saw the guns and the blood...she could hear her mothers voice screaming for help and her fathers cries fill the air. Blood...blood everywhere...The girl sat down crying on the grass bathed in her parents blood when a black figure approached and whispered "Shhh...you are safe now...absolutely safe..."
And the woman within the child screamed in agony.
