Walk among the dead,
A sea of eyes,
Lowered, glazed, still, sad.
All caught in the web
Of deceit they spin,
Twisting, turning, crying, tangled.
I wonder if they see me,
One eye, a spark against the gloom,
Flicker, shudder, light, vulnerable.
Waiting for another,
A light among the dead
To join with mine
And help me see.
I'll do the same,
Sidestep the web
Continue on.
I am not dead.
Not yet.
