The silver tears fall with such a clatter,
Around me, my whole world seems to shatter.
Beyond the thick refuge I made,
A path of darkness before me is laid.
No light shines through to guide my way,
Hopelessness is all the scrambled whispers convey.
Around me lingers the haunting screams;
Around me swells the fears of my dreams.
Beyond this way I cannot see,
Past this fear, I cannot flee.
Rain falls in sheets of ice,
Into my soul its fingers slice.
Harsh winds beat down upon my heart,
The cries cut through me like a dart.
The fires now have turned to ash,
Their presence now is only a gash;
Open and bleeding for all to see,
Locked in this cage I will never be free.
This world is all I have ever known,
This path I have ever trod alone.
Fear follows me like a shadow,
Pain is all I shall ever know.
The innocence I once held dear,
Is only a memory of yester-year.
A crash of lightning splits the sky,
Around me the crystal ashes die.
A burning flame of crimson light,
Flares through the darkest night.
The thundering of pounding hooves,
Preludes the monster as it moves.
Ever closer, drawing nigh,
Covering my soul, its warnings lie.
I try to escape but never will,
This creature I can never kill.
Too deep the scars have gone within,
Staining as deep as any sin.
From my fate I cannot hide,
It comes ever closer as the sea blue tide.
One day it will cascade over me,
One day my soul will cease to be.
Who will see past this deceptive veil?
Who will understand my sorrowful tale?
Under the moonlight's silver shine,
Lays a web of twisted vine.
Be wary, dear friend, or you too may find,
Yourself inside this immortal cage; confined.
