Author's Note: Ok, well, I'm going down to Florida for two weeks, so the sequel's gunna take quite a while to come out. This is the end…..-_-' I know, I know, I could've done WAY better, but…. it needed to end. There's gunna be a sequel, I promise. Geeze, I'm an awful person, I'm supposed to be packing right now. ^_^

Chapter 17:

I was scared. If this didn't work, then Nolan would think I loved him. And I loved Gavin, not Nolan. Really, I did. If only I hadn't been so completely and utterly stupid….

I had to kiss him. And soon. Because, the castle was right there! This was not good. It wasn't good at all!

And Leah was no help. She kept telling me I had to do this on my own. Right. And when she has problems in love, I'll just tell her the same! Some friend!

Which brought me back to the whole 'rat' idea. I wasn't about to keep company to a rat, so….

"Nolan," I said sweetly (gah! Gag me! Sweet?!).

Demon actually stopped his gait and stared at me.

Bad Ahanu! Bad! So much wouldn't have happened if only for him! Argh!

"What?" Nolan asked me. He seemed….shocked.

Why did he…oh, yeah. Last time I interacted with him was our rock-throwing. Right. And that wasn't a good thing, was it? And I'd have to kiss him now…?

"I….love you. Well, not you, but…."

He seemed even more confused.

This was impossible. He was so…..so! I couldn't do this!

"What? I didn't catch that."

Because I didn't throw anything! This wasn't helping me. I was falling down that hill into that trap again. Good-bye cruel world. Hey, there were alligators!

Getting sidetracked again…

"I…."

"You…."

I was going to hit him. Why'd he have to make this so hard?

"I…."

He smirked at me.

Damn it! I was trying!

"I…."

And what did he do? He hit me!

"What'd you do that for?!" I demanded, rubbing my head.

"It got you out of repeating yourself!"

"Are you trying to give me amnesia?!" I demanded.

Why'd he have to look so self-righteous?! It was sickening! I'm-great-and-powerful-and-I'll-just-make-you-lose-your-memories-again! Evil man!

I was wondering if I shouldn't include bandits in my whole Princes are Evil philosophy. Because, Nolan was evil. He was! The bump on my head proved it true!

"Want me to kiss it and make it better?" he asked in a superior voice.

He…was…about…to…become….dead….soon. No! I didn't! I didn't want-

Wait a minute. This could work to my advantage! Ha! If he kissed me, I could kiss him back! And then I'd break curse number two! Bleh! Two curses! How unlucky was this guy?! And he was my true love?!

Of course, it would've been much more romantic if he hadn't fallen through the ground head-first into some strange cave. Who would've known there was a cave entrance right there?! Wait…

He fell from a high distance head-first. That meant that….

Any stray rabbits that were down there could eat him because he'd be knocked-out cold!

Yes! No, wait. It meant that…

He might be Gavin again! Hooray! No kisses for me! I felt like dancing, but quickly stopped when Leah shot me a dark look.

She shook her head at me. Then, she told me to do something very bad. "Go after him, Rhian. This is all your fault."

Ok. What?! My fault! And she was my best friend?! How did that happen, anyway?! And how was it my fault?! What, I commanded the ground to just open up and swallow Nolan so I wouldn't have to kiss him?! Good idea, if I was some powerful sorceress, but no. I didn't! Honestly, where did she get her ideas from, anyway? Not from me. That much was certain.

So, I dismounted and stood at the edge of the hole. It was dark down there. Extremely dark. Dark enough to hide any rabbits that might be lurking about down there.

Why me? Why me, why me, why me?!

Why, why, why…

"What are you waiting for?!" Leah demanded.

And then what did she do?

Something un-best friend-like. She pushed me down the hole!

Scary hole that it was. And darkness was surrounding me as I fell. Luckily, I fell on something soft and heard a groan. Oops.

"Gavin, are you alright…?" I asked softly.

"I think so," he whispered.

Yes! It worked! It worked, it worked, it-

"My name isn't Gavin, though. It's Nolan."

Noooooooooooooo!

Of all the stupid…

"I hate you," I said softly.

He groaned again. "Get off me, then."

"No, I think I'll just suffocate you until you remember who you are!"

"Rhian!" he growled.

Then, something else growled. And yellow eyes glittered in the dark. I shrieked and clung onto my hero. Hero…? Nolan was a hero?! I quickly thought back to all those times—the rabbits, the dragon, everything. He was my hero? I was doomed! I was going to die a horrible death!

"We're going to die! We're going to die!" I shrieked.

"You're choking me! You're choking me!" Nolan wheezed.

I didn't care! I was going to die!

"Where's your chivalry?! Save me!" I ordered him.

"Please…just….let go of me…." Nolan wheezed.

"Are you Gavin, yet?" I asked him.

"….yes…." he whispered.

Did he think I was stupid?! It was only a ploy to get me to let him go! "Really? Then, pray tell, where were we when I made you laugh?"

"Which time?" he asked softly.

He wasn't wheezing anymore..? Wait…

"The first," I said.

Ha! He'd never get this one!

"The ball, of course!" he exclaimed.

…..what….?

"And the second?!" I demanded.

The first was just some weird brush of luck.

"The tree," he said softly. "I'm sorry, Rhian."

I was in shock. He was back…? How had he come back?! When?!

"How long have you been Gavin?" I asked him, annoyed.

He laughed softly. "Ever since we kissed, Rhian. But, funny thing was, I had two memories to go from. I thought I'd make you suffer a little."

The nerve of him! The sheer and utter nerve! And I did not kiss Nolan…er….Gavin….back! Did not! Did not, did not, did not! Times infinity! So there!

Wait… I threw rocks at a prince…?

Um….

And I was currently choking a prince, too?!

I quickly got off him, letting him go.

"I can breathe again!" he cried out.

That liar! He lied to me, again! The jerk! The evil, vile…prince!

The creature growled once more, and Gavin got to his feet. "Just stay behind me," he said, unsheathing his sword. And then….an extremely cute little wolf-puppy leapt at us. It was soooo cute! Gavin sighed in relief, and I carried the cute thing. I had to think of a name for it. Ash. I'd name it Ash, after that kid….We ended up climbing back up the hole, all thanks to Leah and the rope she had found somehow. Didn't know, didn't really care at the moment.

Once we reached the top, Leah took the little wolf-puppy, claiming it was the cutest thing ever! Gavin turned to me, smiling. "You're not too angry, are you?" he asked me softly.

Those blue eyes again! No! Stupid evil, vile, idiotic, lying prince. And his beautiful, captivating, mysterious, blue, blue, blue, blue, blue eyes! How could I be angry with him? How could I stay angry with him….when I loved him so much?

"No…" I said softly.

He smiled and bent his head down to mine, kissing me once more.

And, for once, we were uninterrupted. Unless, of course, you call falling back into that hole interrupted. Of all the stupid! Where had that hole come from?!

A faint whinny made me realize something very important.

Ahanu had a death wish! That fairy! I was going to kill him! I thought as much as I climbed the rope, Gavin not far behind me. Of course, once we reached the top, Demon was gone. That was typical, wasn't it?

Damn horse! He would get his! He would! Stupid fairy!

"Are you ready to go home?" Gavin asked me, taking my hand in his as he smiled down at me sincerely.

Awwww. He was so sweet! How could I say no to him?

Don't look at me like that! I was, in no way, going soft! What would you do if you were in my predicament! Could you say no to him?! Could you?! Hmmm? I didn't think so, either! So don't question me! Nyah! And don't start saying I should never have left him, either!

Because I knew it was true.

And I was ready to go home. Even if I had to deal with crazy things in a castle. Heck, I dealt with crazy things outside of a castle, didn't I?

Yes. Yes, I did.

"Yes. I want to go home. I want to live happily ever after!" I cried out.

"Me too," he replied, then lifted me onto my horse, getting on with me (no Demon anymore). And we rode to the castle.

Did I ever mention that happily ever after was always short-lived?

Allow me to elaborate. Once we got back, we were greeted with parades and celebrations and happiness. Really, it seemed like happily ever after, don't get me wrong. It was…until QC took me aside privately and told me I had to go into training to become queen.

Queen? Me?

End!

Another A/N: Eeek, I know you're gunna kill me for this ending! Aimee even said that it was abrupt.

Heh heh, and now….the return of….the POLL!

What was the funniest part to you?

Was this story annoying?

What would you like to see happen in the sequel (although I've already got it planned out, and killing It isn't an option .)?

That's all. It was a short poll.. -_-' Maybe I'm just not good at making polls… And I won't even be here to read the reviews for this last chapter, isn't that depressing? Thanks to all my reviewers, if I actually had the time (which I don't 'cause I'm supposed to be packing), I'd do a special thanks. Maybe when I come back, I'll do a special thanks and a lil side story thing….I've been watching too much anime…omake is so cute, though! ^_^ Hmm….right! I'll do a stray chapter in Gavin's POV of that night! ^_^ Tying up loose ends and all that. That's all for now! I'll be back in two weeks!
