Prologue
I liked the dark – note the word 'liked'. I'm not too keen on it anymore to say the least. I always make sure I'm never alone in the dark now; walking past alleyways still scares me.
I've learnt my lesson now. You can never be too cautious – you never know what, or more specifically who is lurking around, waiting – just waiting for the right moment.
They suddenly appear behind you – obviously you can't see them – just a hand covering your mouth, holding in your screams. All your instincts tell you to struggle – do anything you can to get away. You wriggle, squirm, kick, hit, and attempt to bite – anything you can possibly do.
Sometimes you get away, sometimes you don't. I didn't.
