Drip-Drop
Drip-drop, the water from my sink,
The sound to my ears quite eerie,
The steady beat, is drip-drop-splash,
Making my tireless night dreary.
My eyes were shut, but now wide open,
Yes, my mind instant weary.
Cre-e-ak from the floorboards of the stairs,
The feel to my skin often creepy,
The fear in my mind of all to come,
Out is the calmness seeping.
Pounding in my heart, thump-thump,
Ho-o-wl of the wind, against my window,
The bone-chilling cold of this frosty night,
The moon shining luminously down onto me,
Giving my mind evident fright,
The stare of the stars, watching closely,
Makes my careful fear take flight.
