(You are the star!)
"Thank you Kristy!"
You shouted excitedly, waving your free hand at the vibrant red mercury tracer, which was pulling out of the driveway, where you stood at the top, in front of the grayish blue garage. Your big, college-bound sister had just spent the whole morning with you at the mall. She wouldn't normally do it because it would be embarrassing for her to spend time with her younger sister. However, it was summer, and Kristy believed that you needed to get out of the house. You have been cooped up inside ever since the last day of school; the day your social life ended.
You exited the double doors of the school so excited about no homework, no tests to study for, and the main reason, you wanted to spend more time with your boyfriend. You walk through the black asphalt parking lot, weaving through the cars looking for your boyfriend's '95 Saturn. Suddenly you froze, you had found your "four-month" boyfriend behind one of the school's buses in the back, making out with you best friend; you know the one since 1st grade. That event, itself, broke your heart, and since then you locked yourself in your room refusing to ever love again.
Anyway, after you watched Kristy speed off out of sight, you began to stroll up to the front door and unlocked it with your key, which was attached to a 'Hello Kitty' key chain, and you walked into the dark empty house, alone. Your parents died two years ago in a plane crash, coming home from a business trip overseas, but you're used to this now, not sad or happy, just fine. Trudging tiredly up the long white carpeted staircase, dragging the massive white plastic shopping bag behind you, you made your way to your room at the far left end of the house.
Once inside your room, you set the bag down, leaning it against the oak dresser near the door, and took out the sparkling white gown from inside, and hung it up in the huge walk in closet on the other side of the door. Stepping out of the closet's narrow entrance, you tiredly ran your fingers through your smooth, yet sweat-drenched hair. Bored out of your mind at what to do, you stumbled across the small rectangular room and plunged your head down on to the soft satin pillows of the bed, which in turn made the matching wool comforter wrinkle under your body.
Trying to breathe, you pull your face to one side. This brought your sight to your small night stand, which held several pictures of family and friends. One was of yourself and Eric, your ex-boyfriend. His golden tanned arms wrapped comfortable around your waist in front, while your leaned back into him, with his head on your right shoulder. He was very tall and muscular, mostly because he was captain of the basketball team. Both of you looked so happy in front of the setting sun, into the blue ocean. The other photograph was of you, Eric, and Amy (your ex-best friend). You were in between them both with your arms around their shoulders. As you gazed at both pictures, tears welled up threatening to fall, but you quickly wiped them away. Sorrow then turned to anger as you backhanded the photographs, making them crash to the carpeted floor; even then you hear a soft crack. Silently, you made a wish, while crying into the pillow that you could just leave and never come back.
Suddenly, bright lights shown through your window across from the door, and you turned your head sideways, making it light up your face, slightly blinding your eyes. Abruptly you clenched them shut, blocking out all light. Finally adjusting to the light, you tried opening your bright eyes, only to scream as a strange figure appeared just outside your window, looking as if he was floating. You couldn't make out his features clearly they were blinded by the unnatural light rays. Out of fear, as if it were someone in trouble, on instinct you ran to the clear glass of the window and opened it, pushing on it, making it swing out. There was a tall man with long flowing white hair standing at the edge of the forest that connected to the backyard of your house. Glowing eyes shown into yours, and you nearly drowned. In that instant, the man disappeared behind the thick brown tree trunks and the thousands of swirling green leaves, which were playing with the wind. "Wait!" you shouted, and with a surprising burst of speed, you bolted from your window and room, and out the back screen door, where you ran to where the man disappeared.
Cautiously, you made your way slowly through the dense woods. It soon began to grow dark and cold the further you walked. You wanted to turn around but something was pulling at you to keep moving. Suddenly, you froze on the spot, as you felt a cool breathe on the back of your neck. Fear shown your bright eyes, but you refused to let a single tear fall. You turned around and came face to face with the same tall man you were looking at before. He was very beautiful with long white hair that flowed to his knees in a waterfall. Silver eyes sparkled as he looked at you, but his most enraptured feature was his smooth feathery white wings, stretching out from his strong immaculate-robed back. 'Oh my goodness!' you gasped, trying not to scream. 'He was a Ten-shi!' You had read about and become fascinated with these creatures in history books. They were said to be the protectors of the human race, but history also said they all were destroyed by wars and the hate of the humans they had sworn to protect in the past.
Just then, you came back to reality from your dreaming state of shock as you heard the handsome man speak in a smooth, low voice. "I have finally found you." You looked at him strangely, taken a back at what he said. He smiled and spoke again, soothingly. "Please believe what I say. You are one of us; you are a Ten-shi. To be specific, you are the reincarnation of Mika, also a Ten-shi. She died protecting the ancestors of the family you now live with." At these words, your eyes flamed with anger, how could any of this be true? "What are you talking about? How can I be what you say? What is your proof?" you shouted your anger increasing rapidly, but the Ten-shi remained calm and unnerved. "You are adopted, correct? It was destiny that brought you to this family. You are unlike anyone else in this household." His words shocked you silent, because they were true. Your parents once explained that they adopted you at infancy. Lost in your dreaming memories, the man's words shocked you again. "You are also cute when you're angry, just like Mika." At this, your cheeks blushed crimson. "Who are you?" you asked, stuttering after your double shock. "My name is Ryoko, and the reincarnations have already begun. Come back, my love." He spoke, and you noticed his voice became softer, in a gentle whisper of wind. He was in love with you in another life. At seeing glittering tears fall from his dazzling eyes, you knew, in that moment, he spoke the truth about everything.
Closing your eyes, bowing your head, you spoke quietly yet confidently. "Let it be as you say." He smiled, and gathered you into his arms so you rested against his strong chest. Taking your chin with his hand and tilted it up so you looked each other in the eyes, he leaned forward and captured your full pinkish red lips with his own in a searing kiss, while at the same time reaching his other hand to stroke your smooth hair. Suddenly, during that intense moment time seemed to stop, and you felt two feathered wings sprout and unfold from your back, and your normal clothes seemed to evaporate and were replaced with a flowing immaculate white gown. However, you never seemed to notice, as you were still lost in the deep passionate kiss he gave you, and it only intensified with his smooth tongue slowly sneaking into your mouth entangling with your own.
You had, by now, completely forgotten about your losses, for you had finally true happiness and love, in eternity.
