The dark room
Down the hall
Past the stairwell
Into a room,
Alone I sit
In the dark room
just thinking.
The windows bang,
The wind howls,
Trees make figures on my wall.
A dim light shines
The moon is out,
But the clouds will
soon create dark.
No sunlight dwells within
These four walls.
The darkness was created by me
And I shall not let it leave.
My feelings good, bad
are in this room.
It is my emotions
Darkness rules here
As I stare into the dark
I see a mirror
At first glance empty
But look twice and you will see
Dark creatures, monsters.
Some forgotten, some familiar.
None a mortal should meet.
As I stare the image of
One becomes clearer
A face
Figure
Eyes
Nose
And then to my horror
I realise
What it is
Who it is
Me
