Chapter I:
Awaken
They heard the winds sing and they heard the silent screams; the ones that pleaded for the pain to stop… and it awakened them.
The twins tried to stand. They felt numb, but somehow managed. They tried to look around, turning their heads. But it was dark- though it was a different kind of darkness… an infinite one. Endless yet so closed. One word to sum it all up- it was nothingness.
They shivered. Suddenly it seemed so cold… the frigidness pierced through them… and a sudden surge of pain came, it was as if they were being squeezed and suffocated. It was from the cold no less. They kneeled, as they could no longer feel their legs because of the chill.
And light flooded them…
An earsplitting noise resounded within the vicinity and a flare of silver light flashed but died a few moments after.
Mist veiled the pattern as the master stepped forward to peer from a closer view and frowned when the white vapor had subsided.
Two figures lay on top of the pattern, asleep somewhat, twins they were, alike in every single way.
He grimaced at the mere thought. Why were there two? He just had one sacrifice…
A black sky was the first to greet them as they opened their eyes. At first it was all a blur, a blend of black and purple smudged with white. Then it came to a clear, with the dark blanket above revealing itself with its whole magnificence.
They gazed quietly, admiring its elegance. They would have stayed there lying down and watching the shadow heavens. But the slow thuds of footsteps disrupted them from their reverie.
Both of them sat up, slowly, their long hair covering most of their skin and they turned their heads in the direction of the sound.
A man, fully dressed in black was coming towards them. He had silvery hair, a pair of gray eyes and ivory skin. He was slender in built and was simple in his dress, the only thing that stood out was a single silver hoop that hung from his left ear. Though there was something about him, something about the glimmer in his eyes that clearly stated one thing.
Malice.
A tinge of fear ran down their spine, making them involuntarily give a shudder of fright.
The man sensed their fear and smirked, placing his gray eyes directly on the twins.
Instantly they felt uncomfortable. The malignance in emanating from him was tremendous, as if they were screaming for blood to be spilt.
The master reached for the nearest twin, grasping his neck tightly in an attempt to break it. He'll just kill one of them and let the other one take his place. A simple solution really, besides, how many years has passed since he had tasted the metallic flavor of blood?
He heard a squeal emanating from the other one. The master glanced at his feet where the other kneeled on the ground, doubled to the earth and was clutching his neck with one hand, and the other was tugging on his coat, it was as if he was feeling the pain the other was experiencing.
The master couldn't help but grin. Interesting. He let go of the boy in his grasp, letting him fall to the ebony grass.
The boy coughed, clutching his neck.
The master ignored them and instead thought, now what?
He couldn't kill one of them. Not unless he was to perform the whole thirty day ritual again. No, there was no time. But leaving both of them would be fine…
He thought for a while then decided.
He called for the demonic beings, simply by raising his hand.
They instantly appeared in front of him, genuflecting.
"Bring them to the castle and clothe them." he told them, "I shall be expecting them in the front terraces before Liquith's Mirror turns to an amethyst hue…" He pointed to the river behind him that was emitting a tranquil azure hue.
They inclined their heads forward and glided over to the twins, striding over to them in an almost eerie way, their wings unmoving, seemingly not floating to be at all.
The brothers looked at them warily as the beings approached them, their amber slits glistening with an unexplainable emotion.
They carefully helped them up and one of them whispered with a hoarse voice. It only took a split second for them to be teleported to a bedroom.
The twins looked around them, baffled by the sudden change of environment. It was a fairly large room, a double door was located to their left side and a large bed was directly behind them, it was a plain room, only the whole room was merely in a black and gray hue.
As the twins mused on their surroundings, one of the demons handed them each a pair of black trousers, a long-sleeved black shirt and a black cloak. They then silently left through the doorway, shutting the door quietly behind them with a soft click.
They looked at each other, baffled. How do they put on these things again?
…Oh!
One of the two concentrated hard, picturing himself with the clothes on. He snapped his fingers and looked at himself and found himself fully dressed. He looked at his brother, who had his eyes shut tight and snapping his fingers.
He opened his eyes, and was disappointed to find his clothes still tucked under his arm.
Then suddenly, the other one had a sudden urge to talk, but what were the words he needed? It seems as though he'd forgotten…come on… come on… remember… right!
"Again. Try again." He said quietly to his twin.
His twin looked at him, and then nodded, he focused hard and he snapped his fingers. This time when he looked at himself, he was now clothed in black like his brother. He smiled to him and he smiled back.
The winged demons stood in front of the double-doors leading to the twins' room. Their hoods were lowered, revealing their faces. One of them had silver hair and sapphire-like eyes, the other had raven hair and amber eyes. They talked in deep and silent tones, almost in a whisper…
"Thanatos… What do we do now that Strievan is possessed?" asked the raven-haired demon.
"I don't know, Aziekiel…" said the silver-haired one, known as Thanatos, "Levont has only left us with his predictions, not with solutions…"
The raven-haired Aziekiel sighed as he placed his hood over his head, "Why not we go and search for Lord Relenthes?"
"Right…" Thanatos said almost sarcastically, "We'd be searching for eons and still he'll be remain unfound." He too put on his hood; "Let us go, Liquith's Mirror is to turn purple soon…" he reached for the knob and pushed it down.
"Whatever may happen, we'll pull through." Thanatos said quietly, "I hope."Okay! Chapter one finally up! Sorry for the damn delay. Stupid school. XD
