A Beacon
The light shines,
A beacon of hope for a long lost mind,
A tiny hole in the shadow of her soul,
Letting through the rays of the sun,
She had long forgotten.
And revealing the moon and stars
That had long been darkened with his blood.
Slowly, reaching, extending her pale hand,
Towards a memory.
Outside they watched as she writhed on the bed,
Crying out again and again,
Always the same name.
Until suddenly she quieted.
Inside a hand had reached for hers and grasped it,
Pulling her mind, body and soul out of the dark reaches
And outside a smile bloomed like a night flower on her porcelain face.
The first smile since his death had turned her world upside down.
Her chest stopped rising and fell, never to rise again.
She stepped into the light and her broken hear mended while her mind let go of shadows.
Finally, she was with him again.
