She had just got her dogs, which were huskies, last week and have yet to get their things for the race that was coming up. She looked up from the counter as she saw the manager come out with the stuff she bought and she smiled. She had received the whole dog sledding set.
"Hey Mr. Carter," Jasmine greeted with a smile.
"Here you go, Jasmine. It's everything. You got the Paris Iditarod Dog Sled. seven Polartech 300 Fleece Dog Boots, seven Full Circle Collars, seven Fleece Dog Jackets, seven Zima Speed Racing Harnesses, a set of Alcohol Cookers, and seven black leashes. Oh and we got your ski uniform in for the race," Mr. Carter said with a charming smile.
"Thank you, Mr. Carter," she said as Mr. Carter helped her with her equipment, loading it into the car.
Mr. Carter gave her a hug as another customer got his attention. Jasmine got in her car and decided to go to Alaska Animal Food Warehouse to get some food for her dogs. Her huskies had no food. She knew they'd love the turkey skins and the Champaine Lamb sausages she was getting.
-
Jasmine walked in the house with the bags of dog food and laughed when she saw all seven of her dogs sitting by the table in the kitchen, wagging their tails. Jasmine just knew they were happy by the way their tails wagged so quickly. She had their collars in the dog food bags as well.
As Jasmine put Demon's, Tiger's, Dutchess's, Ebony's, Snowy's, Steel's, and Spirit's collars on, they went to their bowls, waiting for their food to arrive. Jasmine smiled as she gave each dog two pieces of Champaine lamb sausages. Suddenly, she heard a knock at her door.
"Hey Jas, can I come in?"
Hearing her best friend's voice, a wide smile crept its way upon her face. She jogged to the door and opened it to reveal a girl that stood at 5'6. The girl had dirty blonde hair and green eyes. She was wearing a pair of black, Orage Wahine pants, a black Bonfire Optic T10 Jacket, a black Burton Formula Polo, a black beanie, a pair of red bronze Wisenheimer glasses that were on top of her head, and a pair of black and dark brown Lowa Arko GTX boots.
"Hey Jackie!" Jasmine greeted as she hugged her tightly.
"You feel like getting a drink with me?" she asked as she pulled her beanie down to cover her ears from the cold, "It's like below zero in the temperature stats!"
"Sure, I could use a drink," Jasmine said stepping outside, closing the door.
"Good Jas. So, how have you been lately?" Jackie asked as they boarded in Jackie's truck.
"I've been good. I just got new gear for the race in two weeks," Jasmine said as she put on her seat belt.
"That's cool. Oh, my brother just moved back in town," Jackie said as she started driving.
"What's his name?"
"His name is Jason and girl, he's single," Jackie giggled as she looked at her for a quick second before turning her eyes back to the road.
"You know I'm not into relationships or anything like that, Jackie. I don't know why people want me to get into one. I'm just going to get my heart broken," Jasmine said seriously. She was really sick of people trying to get her to go out with a guy. She was twenty and she could make her own decisions.
"I'm sorry, Jas, but you have to realize when Jason sees you, he's going to want to go out with you. He saw a picture of you at my house and girl, he went crazy," Jackie laughed a bit.
"What do you mean? How did he go crazy?" Jasmine asked as Jackie parked at the bar.
"Jas, Jason thinks you are sexy," Jackie said with a smirk.
"I don't see how, though."
"Sweetie, look at you! You are a Latina and got the most piercing blue eyes I've ever seen," Jackie said as they got out of the car.
Jasmine just laughed as they walked inside and everyone turned their attention to them as Jackie and Jasmine took a seat at the bar. Jasmine looked around as the bartender gave her a glass of water.
"Hey Jasmine, this is Jason," Jackie introduced as Jasmine looked at the guy sitting next to her best friend. She just smiled and nodded her head in his direction.
Jason was wearing pair of red Orage Wahine pants, a gray Bonfire Optic T10 Jacket, a red Burton Formula Polo, a red beanie, a pair of black bronze Wisenheimer glasses, and a pair of Lowa Arko GTX boots.
"Hey Jasmine," Jason smiled at her as he drank his beer.
"Hey Jason, how's business going?"
"It's going good. I'm just on a two month vacation because I never took my break," he said with a smile and added, "and I love the winter sports here."
"Yeah, dog sledding is coming up in two weeks. You going into the competition?" Jasmine asked as the bartender placed a beer in front of her.
"I don't know. I've never really actually done it," he said with a nervous laugh.
"Are you serious?" she asked as Jackie went to talk to some people.
"Yeah, it looks difficult, but I got the huskies," he chuckled a little bit.
"Hm, you want some help?" Jasmine asked as she looked at him. She had never met a man that didn't mush sled dogs. It was just really weird because he lived here when he was a little boy.
"I don't want to intrude and you probably haven't," he shrugged as he took a sip of his drink.
"I won second place last year," she said as she looked at him with a smile.
"Wow, then I guess you could help me."
"Great! Come by my place tomorrow at nine in the morning," she said as she stood up to her feet, "I have to check up on my dogs."
"Can I come along to see them?" Jason asked all of a sudden, "I don't feel like being with my sister and people I don't know."
"I know how you feel," she said as they walked out the bar.
-
"Hey Jackie, when is Jasmine going to get a boyfriend? I hate seeing her all alone and she is a very beautiful girl," Mrs. Carter said.
"I don't know Mrs. Carter. She just denies all the guys but Jason told me he's going to get her. I don't believe it but we got two months," Jackie smiled at them.
"Mrs. Carter is right. When I asked her out when we were seventeen, she turned me down."
"There has to be a reason she's been denying all these guys."
"Well, Kyle, you had just broken up with your girl and Mr. Smith, I have no idea what's with her past. I had just met her when I was seventeen," Jackie shrugged her shoulders. She looked out the window of the bar and watched Jason pull out of the bar.
"Let's hope things work out for her," Kyle said as he took a swig of his beer.
-
"Wow, this is a really nice cabin," Jason said as he shut the front door.
Yeah, it is," she said as she looked over at him.
"Where are your huskies?" Jason asked as he heard running and barking, "Never mind."
Jasmine smiled when the dogs lay down on their stomach's in front of Jason and Jasmine. She looked at them and smiled.
"What's their names?" Jason asked as he looked at her and then turned his attention back to the dogs.
Jasmine smiled as she pointed to each dog from left to right. Demon, Snowy, Dutchess, and Spirit have the white and black fur. While Tiger, Vixen, and Ebony have the tan, black, and white fur. All of the dogs have the brown and blue eyes.
"Are they Akita's?" Jason asked as Snowy came to Jason, sniffing him.
"Yep, I've always wanted one and now I got seven," she laughed as she took a seat on one of the chairs.
Jasmine looked outside and saw how heavy it was snowing. She went towards the door as Snowy followed her closely. Jasmine shook her head and looked over at Jason.
"You should go home. I can tell a big snow storm is going to start soon," she said. She didn't want him to leave. She really enjoyed his company.
"I don't think I'll make it in time," he said with a sigh, "Do you think it'd be okay if I stayed here for the night?"
"Of course you can stay. I could use the company," she said as she went to the fireplace to start a hot fire.
"I really like your cabin," Jason said as he moved over to her. He couldn't help but be close to Jasmine. She was such a beautiful sight to look at.
"Thanks, I've been living here since I turned nineteen," she licked her lips. She hated how cold it was getting. It even made her lips dry and she did not want her lips to be frozen or numb tonight.
The phone rang and Jasmine picked it up as she entered the kitchen. "Hello?"
"Hey sweetie, is my brother with you because he isn't home," Jackie said with a sigh. She hoped her brother was all right because she didn't know where he was.
"Yeah, he's here. Don't worry. Now you go over to your boyfriend's house so he can make sure you are okay with this snow storm," Jasmine laughed as she looked over at Jason, who was looking at Demon, who was glaring at Jason, "Demon, no!"
Demon walked over to Vixen and plopped on the floor next to her.
"All right. Have fun with Jason," Jackie laughed as she hung up. Jasmine shook her head as she hung up and looked over at Jason.
"How's my sister?" Jason asked as he moved towards her, running a hand through his brown hair.
"She's good. She was worried about you and she is headed off to Jake's place," Jasmine said with a small laugh.
"I have yet to meet him," Jason smiled at Jasmine, "Is he a good guy?"
"He is the best actually. He loves her. They've been together for six months."
"That's the longest relationship she's ever had," Jason teased a little, smirking at her.
"Well, the guys she dated were complete jerks looking for only one thing," she said as she walked towards the freezer. Jasmine didn't feel like cooking and she had frozen dinners.
"Well, I am glad one of us found someone," Jason shrugged as he watched Jasmine with a smile.
Jasmine looked over at him and raised an eyebrow. She had thought a handsome guy like Jason had a girlfriend.
"Wait... you're single? No freaking way?"
Jason just laughed at her response. "Yeah, I'm single. I have been for two months," he said as he flashed her a smile. He loved how he made her smile and he hoped he wouldn't see tears anytime soon.
"I thought you would've have a girlfriend or something..."
"No, I'm single. Jackie said I need a girlfriend if I want to be happy," Jason laughed, "but I don't want to just date anyone. I want someone I can be compatible with."
"Yeah, that's cool," Jasmine said taking out two frozen dinners and putting them in the microwave. She was hoping he wouldn't ask her about a boyfriend because she had never had one but she had a reason why not to.
"So, what about you, Jasmine?" Jason asked as he leaned against the counter. He wanted to know every aspect of her life.
"What about me?" she asked as she ran her hand through her hair, getting nervous.
"Do you have a boyfriend?" she asked as she looked at him.
"Nope," she stated as she looked out the window, watching the snow fall.
"Why is that? You are a very attractive girl, Jasmine," he said with a smile.
She just looked at him and Jason sighed. He wouldn't bother her if she didn't want to but he was determined to find out later why she didn't have a boyfriend. He had heard that she had never had a boyfriend and he didn't understand why a beautiful woman like Jasmine didn't.
"Well, our food is ready," Jasmine said as she took the food out of the oven.
Jason smiled as he looked at the contained work chicken, mashed potatoes, and greens.
"It looks delicious," Jason smiled as Jasmine as she handed him a beer.
"You need it to keep yourself warm," Jasmine said as she went towards the living room, sitting on the couch as Jason sat next to her.
-
"Hey baby," Jake said as he pulled Jackie in the house, shutting the door behind her.
"I missed you," Jackie said with a giggle.
"I did too and I am going to miss you even more now that you started that bartending job," he said with a smile.
"You can always come down to see me," Jackie said as she walked into the living room area with him, taking a seat next to him.
"Well, I am glad to know that in advance," Jake smiled at Jackie, flashing her a smile. He grabbed her hand in his and gave it a soft kiss on the palm.
"You are just the sweetest guy I could ever be with," Jackie grinned as she looked into his brown eyes.
"I try to be, baby," he said with a genuine smile, "How's Jasmine by the way?"
"She's good. Jason got trapped at her place during the storm," she laughed as she squeezed his hand.
"Wait a minute! What?" Jake laughed. He wasn't sure he heard right from what escaped his girlfriend's lips.
"You heard me, baby," she laughed, "My brother is at Jasmine's place."
"Why is he there?" Jake asked with confusion on his face.
"I have no clue," Jackie said with a laugh, "but enough about them, baby. Aren't you going to kiss me?"
Jake just chuckled as he pulled her on his lap, smiling at her as he crashed his lips on hers. He could never get sick of her kisses. He could kiss her all day if he wanted to but he'd be too tired.
"God, your kisses are to die for, baby," Jackie said with a giggle.
"I could never get sick of yours," he said with a serious face, wrapping his arms around her.
"Good. How about we go to bed?" she asked as she looked at him.
"That sounds good," Jake smiled as he helped her to her feet, leading the way to his bedroom.
-
"Well, that was a good meal," Jason said as he set the tray on the table.
"Yeah but we should really be getting to bed," Jasmine said with a smile.
"Can we sleep out here? It's nice and warm," Jason flashed her a smile.
"Well, there is a nice fire going," Jasmine stated as she looked at him, "You really want me to?"
"Yes, I really do," he said as he wrapped his arm around her waist.
"Well, let me get comfortable," she said as she stood up, bringing Jason up with her.
She grabbed a blanket from under the chair and set the blanket on the couch. She lay her body down onto it, pulling Jason down with her, and rested her head on his chest.
"This is much better," Jason chuckled.
Jasmine nodded her head as she drifted to sleep and soon after, Jason did too.
