Watching Ever; Wanting Never
By: Daniel Norris
Now young babe you have come to be
Alive alone, attempt to see.
The curtains drawn, a bright new day;
It slips away; the angel stays
Watching ever; wanting never.
What is this? Why is that?
Forming plans, mind is fat
Growing now and still she's there.
Guards the babe with utmost care.
Watching ever; wanting never.
Now soft babe you've grown to be
A human, hater, sinner; me.
And that bright angel, still she waits.
And holds and loves and never late.
Watching ever; wanting never.
The wings of dawn have come and gone.
The babe once was now is grown
And wrinkled in the eyes of man
She extends an angelic hand
Watching ever; wanting never.
She saves his soul, once again.
Flesh made whole, as well his sins.
She's watched him always, now she cries.
Watching her babe who smiles and dies.
Watching ever; wanting never.
