Your eyes squint
Like a traffic light turning from yellow to red
Your head tilting to the side so no one sees the tears
The brick walls hide you perfectly
In a city of crumbling buildings
You lay down at their feet
A bird with two broken wings
And no home to go back to
The street lamp casting a glow of perfection
Caressing darkness with it's weary midnight hand
Leaving only shadows to the imagination
Your body a crumpled paper bag
Wilted like a flower that was forgotten in the sun
Years wasted on what, you cant remember
Pavement wrapping its arms around you
Cracked by mistreatment and ignorance
A frozen statue as the world speeds by
City Night by dancingwiththedead
