Is not from fairy tales
She wears not the long pink gowns
Or gauzy pastel veils
Her crown is non-existent
Her eyes no misty shine
She's not wanted by all young princes
For she's not quite divine
She is not perched upon
A castle's highest tower
While with slender finger tips
She plucks petals from a flower
She is never spoiled
Or courted to and fro
Her line is not of royalty
She has no glitz to show
There are no flowing locks
Of brunette or gold
Or perfects breasts and a tiny waist
An image to uphold
To me, my perfect princess
Is the girl next door
As long as she's got love to offer
She'll sweep me off the floor
Some say she's a tomboy
Her baggy clothes don't fit
But I just love her simple style
Her jeans, her hair, her wit
A dull and dusty blond
Falls around blue eyes
Eyes anonymous and silent
Holding back no lies
She sits alone and waits
For me to arrive
I am her one and only lover
She keeps me alive
To me, my perfect princess
Is not out of reach
I can hold her in my arms
Stroke her perfect cheeks
She may not be an heir
To a monarchs' throne
But her power over me
Is one I've never known
To lie there next to her
To feel her warm embrace
I could watch her imperfections
Envelop her with grace
I would place a kiss
Upon her supple lips
Then trace a line down her pale skin
Over curving hips
To me, my perfect princess
Requires no attention
No spectators in awe while
She awaits pretension
Only I can see
The beauty she contains
There are no knights and kings and queens
Or kingdoms she must reign
In my fairy tale
My voice could confess
With a whisper in her ear
"You are my perfect princess"
