Here we sit fat and content

Pointing our fingers at whoever we please

Lazy Americans angry and bent

On passing the blame for our blinding disease

"Blame it on Bush" we yell in accord

As if that will make it all change

Sure he was wrong in drawing his sword

But our ignorance gave him free range

So now we complain and whine as we do

Whenever we're faced with a trial

We turn our ears deaf on the rational few

And answer their pleas with denial

The sickness runs deeper than the man at the top

It's a virus we've cultured for years

Our only defense is to call for a stop

To the ignorance breeding these fears
