"Cameron! Come on! Get your butt out here." I threw the last duffel bag into the car and leaned against the door. Today was the day we were leaving to go back home and we had spent the whole dam morning packing! Clothes, some food, and not to mention all the stuffed animals that Cameron just HAD to win at the fair.
So, five duffel bags(ALL Camerons!), two of my suitcases, a cooler full of sandwiches and fruit, a case of cherry coke, a pink teddy bear, a long green snake, and a oversized tiger were all stuffed in the back seat and trunk. Now all I had to do was wait for Cameron to get off the phone. At the last possible moment, he had decided to call his mom. Can I stop to say just one thing? That would be...BIG MISTAKE! Cameron had gotten on the phone and he said that he only wanted to tell her that he was coming home, but soon, she had gotten into how much she had missed him and all that crap. I will admit he tried to get off several times, but he didn't have the heart to hang up on his crying mom. Big softy.
I checked my watch. 10:54. We were supposed to be gone by 10:30 so we could get there late or very early tomorrow morning. By the time he got off the phone, they would be taking snowboard lessons in hell.
I turned my head to the sound of a car coming and was surprised to see a Mercedes Benz pull into Heath's driveway. I crossed my arms and raised my eyebrows when I saw a certain young man step out of the expensive car. I immediately put a sneer on my face and pulled out my cold attitude. Heath. Well, if he wanted to talk to me, it would be like talking to a wall of ice. Hard and cold.
I saw as he gave a long stretch and yawned, before he turned his head in my direction. Immediately he froze and his face drained of all colour. It was actually very amusing to see his carefully acquired tan leave his face slowly. He looked unsure for a few seconds, but then slowly turned toward the white fence that separated our yard from his. Heath walked up to it and put his hands on it, bending down but also raising his head so he could see me. I acted as though I saw him but couldn't care if he existed.

"Rayne..." Heath flashed me a white smile, "how are ya? Life been treating you good?" Well, of all the arrogance I have ever seen, this definitely took the dam cake! I glared at the impudent monkey and I could feel my blood beginning to boil. He has some nerve, I thought, first he tries to rape me, then he goes and makes it all look like nothing!

"I've been just dandy thanks." I gritted out, "How was your trip? Nice car by the way. Did you steal it from someone who deserved it or mooch it off another girl you raped?"

I saw him get angry now. Good, I thought, at least I'm getting at him.

"Look Rayne, if I remember correctly, it was YOU who pulled me out of the club in a major hurry. I don't think its classified as rape if the girl was willing." Heath spat the words out.

My mouth dropped open. Was he actually implying that...?! I crossed my arms and rolled them into tense fists at my sides.

"If you're saying that I'm some kind of spur of the moment whore, which you obviously have met many, than you are the stupidest, most arrogant jackass I have ever had the displeasure of meeting."

"Oh, come off your high horse girl. You were practically begging me to take you."

That did it! I ran up to fence and before Heath could do anything, I had him turned around and his arm twisted painfully behind his back. I dug my nails into his arm, drawing blood. I smiled when I saw him cringe with pain. I pulled his head back so I could whisper in his ear.

"You, you mangled son of a beatch, have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. I wouldn't sleep with you if you were the last piece of scum on earth. Now, you listen and you listen good, cause I'm only saying this once. If you ever talk to me or my family or the people I care about ever again, I will not hesitate to press charges. Don't think you can run away from this one, cause I do have an eye witness who I'm very sure will be as eager as I am to hurt you."

"Cameron." Heath sputtered out.

"Wonderful memory you got there. If it works as well as I think it does, it should remember that Cameron kicked your sorry ass that night. I'm sure he would be very interested in doing it again. Should we ask him? He's right inside."

Heath slowly shook his head no. I released his arm roughly and walked back to the car, turning around and leaning on it again.

"Ciao Heath! Please, don't forget me, cause I sure as hell won't forget you." I gave Heath a mock wave and flipped him a birdie when he gave me a death glare. I smiled as he stomped off to his house and turned my head as Cameron sauntered out, his head turned toward the Benz. He made his way over to the car and wrapped his arm around my shoulders.

"Heath is home, I take it?" Cameron rested his head on top of mine.

"Yea, he just got here a few minutes ago."

Cameron ducked his head so he could look me in the eyes. "He didn't do or say anything to you, did he?"

I smiled again. "Actually, he and I had quite a nice little chat. A particular subject came up and he said some rather naughty things, so I verbally and physically had to kick his ass."

Cameron planted a soft kiss on my lips. "That's my girl. Always ready to beat someone up."

"You know it."

Summer came out and ran down the driveway, Tristan following her.

"I can't believe that you're leaving already!" Summer drew me into a hug, "You have to come again and always bring Cameron with you!"

"Don't worry. I have a feeling that we are gonna be joined at the hip after this." I smiled at Cameron over Summer's shoulder. I saw him pick up Tristan and throw him up in the air. He looks so natural doing that, I thought, I wonder if he has any plans to become a father someday.

So, after all the tearful goodbyes and 'call-me-as-soon-as-you-get- home's, Cameron and I were backing out of the driveway. I watched as Summer and my nephew slowly became smaller and smaller, wiping a tear away from my eye.

"Ready to go home?" Cameron asked, holding out his hand.

I took and gave him a wobbly smile. "Ready."

That's how we will always be. Ready to go home, ready to go away, ready for...anything. These past two weeks had been trying and by going through them, I gained a loving, caring boyfriend. As I glanced down at our intertwined fingers, I began to see a future. A future that included me and Cameron. We would have a house on Summer's street and eventually, maybe, a playmate for Tristan. We would live in peace and harmony.

I smirked. As for the peace and harmony part, not in a million years. But I actually could imagine spending the rest of my life with Cameron, and actually could imagine having his child. Maybe one day, someday. But for today, I'll just concentrate on high school, my friends, and most of all, my new boyfriend.

Yeah, life can seem like a dream, and you can wake up. I was living the nightmare of being who I was before, but now life is a dream, and I never want to wake up.
