The World That We Live In

What is this world that we live in?
The struggles that we face?
The hatred that we have?
The deception that we hide?
The lie that we live?
Is this the world that we live in?
Some say we are proud,
That we are powerful.
Some say war is just a part of life,
Nothing more.
Some say this, is it true?
Is this how it is,
Hatred, fear, death, and disease.
Is this right,
How do we know?
Can this really be?
Are we ready to face what we are,
A reflection in the mirror,
The shadow that we are.
Can we ever truly be ready,
To face what we are?
The human race is a parasite,
Infecting, destroying, and causing chaos.
No matter what we touch,
It's all the same.
We're just a parasite.
What if we do make it perfect?
Joy, happiness, and perfection will be,
But at what price?
Whatever we gain there's a price to pay.
Does this mean we are trapped,
An unbreakable spell,
An everlasting way?
What if?
What is this world we live in?
Some say we are proud,
Is this how it is?
Are we ready to face what we are,
That the human race is a parasite.
What if we do make it perfect?
What then?
All I see is pain, hatred, and war,
What then?
Will it ever end?
What then?
You decide.
