I look away from a pool of water, afraid of what reflection I'll see. Afraid of seeing an ugly beast not even a mother could love. A monster everyone would run in terror from. A hideous creature that makes babies wail in fear. But when I look into the water I see myself, as I am. No concealers. No wigs or hair dye. Just y reflection as I am. I might be broken and sorrowful at times, but I am still me.
