Am I a product of nature or man?
Conflicting viewpoints of the world
Haunt my every wayward thought.
In this "modern" day and age,
The things I desire are
Both vilified and applauded,
Like popular serial killers.
Of course, one hundred years ago,
These thoughts may not have existed,
And a thousand years before then,
It might have been commonplace in lost history.
Are the things I desire
Entirely natural or curbed by backwards media?
One religion worships it purely,
Another worships it darkly,
And a third calls it a mortal sin,
A sin of the flesh, the sin of the world.
Once praised, once hated,
Now religious, now discrete,
There is no one to share my confusion with.
