As sun soaks in to skin
The beach lover listens to the seagulls chirp
To the melody of the waves
A child cries for the sand in his eye
A family opens a picnic basket
But before they can even crake open a Coke,
Seagulls swoop in for a free snack.
As sand creep between the beach lovers toes,
People shiver in the icy tide
Some splash and dodge the waves
Others bronze their skin
Or they scorch it
This is what the beach lover sees.
