Tears began to slowly fall down Adrian's cheeks. He knew there was nothing he could do to protect himself, but Ally was another story. He could throw himself in the way of death to save her, to prove his love for her. Adrian let go of Ally's body, and walked over to a nearby tree.
Ally followed closely, sitting down with him. Carefully, he picked a wildflower that was growing nearby and tucked it behind her ear. As his hand was leaving her face, she grabbed it, and held it, feeling love pulse through his veins. The love she felt pulse there was for her, not for Rebecca, not anymore.
Silently they sat there for what was hours, but to them, felt like mere moments. Adrian also felt the love that pulsed through his veins, and often had to remind himself that she did not feel the same about him as he did her. He could see the ghost within her eyes, and knew what it was from. The Dead hands had a great effect on Ally, and there was nothing he could do about it. The scar left on her soul would never fade away.
Feeling Adrian's eyes search her soul, she turned away, but felt Adrian's hand turn her face back towards his. "I see the dead in your eyes." Tears started to flow down Ally's cheeks. He wiped them away gently "Do not cry, Ally." he said calmly.
Ally could not control herself anymore, she leaned into him and kissed him, softly and quickly. Realizing what she had done, she pulled away, but not all the way. The surprised look quickly faded from Adrian's eyes, and he kissed her back. The kiss was passionate and filled with the promise of tomorrow. When he pulled away, Ally stood up. Adrian followed, wanting nothing more than to kiss Ally again and again, wanting to drown her in kisses.
"It's getting dark," she said, and started to walk away into the forest. Adrian ran after her.
"Ally," He breathed, catching up to her, "There's something that I have wanted to tell you for a long time."
Ally stopped and faced him. "What?" she asked in a tone that said 'we must be going'.
Gently, Adrian took both her hands in his. "I love you, Ally" he said, looking at their hands in one another's. She threw her arms around his neck. "I love you too!" she said happily, as the sun's last rays disappeared.
There was a rustle in the grass, Adrian knew it was the dead hands, back to finish their job. With a swift kiss on Ally's lips, he grabbed her hand and ran as fast as he possibly could into the forest, Ally lagging behind, stumbling over roots. Adrian stopped and picked Ally up into her arms, the proceeded to run farther into the forest, knowing the end of the Realm Of The Dead was near. If he could just get Ally past that, they would be safe... for the moment.
