Chapter 6 – Part Two
Trickery
This update is quicker because I had this chapter written already :D hehehe. Well this second HALF of a chapter lol
I really got into this story so I decided to do a mass writing and then move on to my two smaller fictions.
Reviewy? :P
"What exactly do you mean of your standing? And your reputation?" She quoted from their discussion earlier.
Ambrose seemed to have seen this coming as he had already prepared an answer for the question. He, too, took a slight pause before speaking.
"Well, let's go into your room and talk, alright?" He offered and led her into the guest room, sitting down on the bed.
"Okay, well I did not tell you earlier, but it does not matter. I am the oldest vampire alive, about 400 years old, though I stopped counting. I am therefore respected by everyone and extremely wealthy. I was turned when I was 21 when the early vampire spurts were discussed. People seemed to have invented a creature that feeds on blood and it was topic of campfires and things of the like, but little did they know the truths behind the words they spoke to each other."
Trinh took her time to understand everything he told her. If he was actually 400 and some years old, then he was definitely intelligent and more then capable of doing and achieving anything he pleases.
"So my standing is basically being the oldest vampire, and my reputation, well, its of my job – or never-ending quest. See, we vampires have not always been one big force, because back in the day, some vampires believed in unity between humans and vampires on a friend basis and thought it wrong for us to feed on them. They would be very religious and nature-loving creatures; it was sickening. So in the end, a lot of vampires grouped up and fought these vampires, effectively killing all who denied the use of our given talents of the night. I have killed the last remaining 'good' vampire of that time and many before that one, giving me my reputation."
She noticed his tone get softer when he spoke about his lastly killed vampire. Ambrose also seemed to have zoned out, so she moved a bit to distract his attention.
"Oh, okay. So, you're like the boss or something? Or like their King?"
Ambrose shrugged.
"You keep speaking as if you aren't one of us. Well better change that habit as it will be different for you sooner then you would think it is. But, to answer your question, no, I only rule over the house servants. There are no 'Kings' in the vampires, but I am an elder and I suppose it gives me the same respect and authority – if that's what you were trying to get to."
Sighing he shifted and looked at her desk and noticed the empty glass on the nightstand. He smiled; knowing she had drank it and sighed again – more peacefully this time. Once again, she pulled him out of his thoughts for further questioning.
"What about me. I apparently got hurt. Is that how the whole me drinking another person's blood is supposed to work? Cause I don't recall you telling me." She questioned, getting slightly peeved.
Ambrose stayed quiet for a bit. He expected her to notice, though he didn't want her to.
"One of the men staying here…" He started, when Trinh interrupted him.
"Man or vampire?"
"Does it matter?"
"Yes." She replied flatly.
"Vampire, may I resume?"
"Go ahead." She tried to say innocently, while rolling her eyes.
Trinh couldn't figure out why she gave him attitude. So far he had been nice to her that night, but something about the topic of vampires kept her on the go.
"Well, one of the men here had felt your presence in this guest room. He, being curious, walked in and noticed that you were half asleep. As you probably noticed, vampires are always thirsty for blood and seeing you laying there, he figured you were free to take. Well, it took me about thirty minutes to figure out what was going on." Ambrose took a pause to notice her expression change from confused to sick.
"Anthony thought you were just an other pet, and had obviously tried to ask you to pleasure him because you were pissed off and confused and had apparently gotten physical with him. He says that you refused to co-operate so that he got physical against you. Knowing Anthony, he probably was only turned on and decided to abuse you to amuse himself." He explained.
Trinh went quiet; she hadn't expected nor wanted to know this. Ambrose watched her eyes gleam with hurt and anger, and he could not blame her.
"Did, did you say that this guy lives here?" She questioned.
Ambrose nodded, and her eyes grew wider.
"What? You're letting him live under the same roof as me? If he doesn't go, then I DO! Let me out!"
All of a sudden she stood and ran for the door. As her hand snaked out to grab the handle, her hand hit something solid and warm, causing her to retract her hand out of impulse. Ambrose had moved, obviously with his enhanced abilities, to the door and she had grabbed his abdomen instead of the doorknob. She blushed slightly then turned around running towards the window. Before her fists could make it to the glass, Ambrose was behind her and holding her forearms.
"Do not do that. You will get cut on the glass and it will sting. You won't seriously jump down there will you?"
Trinh considered yelling at him before she took into account what he had just told her. Of course she wouldn't have actually jumped, it was way too high to do that. If her heart wouldn't have stopped in fear half way down, her impact most definitely would have killed her.
Slowly, Trinh became aware of how close she was to Ambrose's body and she blushed again. Yes, like when she met him at the bar, she wanted to be with him, but now she knew more and to actually be with him now that she knows he wants her blood, it was a more questionable move.
"Let me go?" She asked, her voice cracking with uncertainty and embarrassment.
"No. Not until you promise me you will not jump." He asked, nodding to the window, even if she could not see the action.
"Fine, I won't jump."
She answered him, sure, but it sounded more like she was only agreeing to anything to get him to let her go.
"And you promise to stay away from Anthony? If he ever, ever comes near you, just scream my name in your mind. I will hear it. He will too, but I will come." His voice was now just a touch above a whisper.
Trinh nodded and felt her hair fall on his chest. He let go of her wrists and she walked over to the bed again, sitting down.
"Tell me about him. Is he stronger then you?" She asked this simply, wanting more information.
"No, but he is far more dangerous. He is known to do reckless things, as I did when I was a younger vampire. I have grown out of that habit, but he still is abusive and addicted with blood. He doesn't respect humans at all and will never feel anything for them. I understand now that they are alright people, even if I believe we are most mighty. But physically, no, I am strongest of the vampires."
And he wasn't lying. Ambrose may be considered bad, determined to establish a way for all vampires to follow, have lust for blood, power and sex, and be intent on killing anyone who opposes him, but at least he had reasons and not just decided to hurt and otherwise do bad things for the heck of it. He observed Trinh for a while; she was obviously considering what she was told. Then she looked up at him and they stared at each other for a while, reading each other's minds through eye contact. Instinctively, Ambrose brushed away some stray strands of hair that had fallen on her face and Trinh blinked and smiled.
"Last question. Why would you want to turn me into a vampire? I mean, human life isn't bad. A cursed life, on the other hand…"
"Honestly, I turned you into a vampire because Ciara, my last childe, was getting on my nerve. And she stopped pleasing me, so I disposed of her. I need a constant blood source so that I don't have to pick on humans constantly – they get annoying too. So that is where you stand, understood?" He replied in a harsh tone.
Trinh was taken aback, he was all of a sudden "evil vampire" him again.
Is he saying he wants to use me? That all he wasted my life for is so that I become some fountain of his? And he really expects me to want to do this? Or is he going to force it out of me? Bah. My second week of hell is almost up anyways! L-o-s-e-r! She thought, and by the look on Ambrose's face, he was reading her thoughts.
"Oh but believe me, you will end up wanting this new life of yours."
"Oh well forgive me for having to break it to you but, I never asked for this lovely gift of yours. So feel free to fuck off."
At this point, Ambrose wanting nothing else but to hurt Trinh, perhaps make her bleed and drink up the spilt blood. She frustrated him to an extreme. Did she not understand that if he wasn't being this sincere that she would already be sold as a slave to some power hungry vampire? At least he would provide her a very decent vampire life, please her and bring her all the wealth and riches she would desire. But she had to bother him so.
"Get out."
Her voice sounded serious and hurt.
Oh, I hurt the bitch did I? Kicking me out of the room? Is she serious?
"Now."
Ambrose wanted only to reply "or else what?" and add a string of curses and make her see things his way, but a part of him held him back and instead he sighed, turned around and left the room.
Trinh blinked. Did he actually just leave? Wow. She thought, and then went on to thinking of what she will do in this unknown house of the damned. She didn't exactly want to stay in this room until she was freed, whenever that was. Was she really a captive? She needed to be let out to feed right? As her mind feuded about her current position, her exhausted body ached for sleep.
About an hour later, Trinh was able to achieve a light sleep when she heard movement, which brought her back to. The sounds were slight and she was impressed that she even heard it, from her sleep especially. But the sound grew louder and she translated it as Ambrose coming to her room. Curious as to why he came, and uninterested in talking to him, she feigned sleep when he opened the door.
His figure seemed to loom there for a couple of minutes before he walked out and shut the door behind him again. Trinh sighed and attempted to get comfortable again when she heard a voice, and not Ambrose's, followed by his voice. She didn't dare think of whom he may be talking to, in fear that he would pick up her thoughts. Concentrating on the conversation, Trinh eavesdropped.
"Trinh? Yeah, she's now my childe."
"When did you finish it?"
"Well, you had done quite a show on her so I had to give her my blood for her to survive. So that did it."
"Does she know?"
"Nah. She believed this 2 week test drive shit that I made up to not over excite her on the subject. She thinks that if she doesn't get bit again in the next 2 days or so, that she doesn't completely become a vampire."
There was laughter, and then the unknown voice spoke again.
"So what exactly are you going to do to her?"
"Well, she's someone to feed on for one, but she's not like the rest. Every time I look into her eyes I question my existence, instead of go hungry for power like I usually do. It will be interesting to inform her of her new life and of how she will adapt to the feranome."
"Bah, I bet she'll try to eat metal before getting used to it."
This was it; Trinh couldn't listen any longer. Anger oozed through her body and pulsated her to want to kill them both: Ambrose and whoever he was talking to. Standing up, she marched to the door and violently opened it to come standing next to Ambrose and a male vampire.
"Well hello deary, nice of you to join us!" The second vampire spoke.
Ambrose shook his head.
"Trinh, I believe you met Anthony before?"
Thanks to everyone who is reviewing! It's really encouraging. I know I know, I don't seem to appreciate it cause I don't write fast – but I warned you guys already! I am now back into routines and have plenty time to write, and since I have the next chapter planned, it should be up soon.
ellabella: My god bless you girl! Yes, about the whole lessons thing, thats why it was blood: try one! lmao. I want there to be try two.. three.. ect lol. Might be interesting. Yes, the plot IS hazy, as its MEANT to be. You are sorta only getting to know what she knows, of what she can remember and what she finds out. Thats the plot, and thats the way im writing it.. so you can feel more like Trinh. I hope the next few chapters will sort out your confusion. I just needed to introduce her to his life style first D
