"He's not the 'right kind' of boy",
says mammy and daddy that day.
"He isn't good enough for you dear,
and that's all we'll say".
I could understand at first,
why he was so different.
He looked the same as you and me,
but still, I could not see.
Then I looked past the man I loved,
and looked to where he prayed.
And then I realized, that we didn't attend
the same place every Sunday.
How could they pass judgment
on someone they've never met.
But, for my parents. I left him.
It has been my biggest regret.
