The seas were calm and peaceful,
The waves lapping gently against the sailboat created a peaceful rhythm
The skies were clear and blue,
There was ne'er a cloud in the sky

The golden rays of the sun glistened off the water, the water shone like diamonds
The men on the boat were calm, pulling in their nets and casting them out again,

Deep in the water, the fishes swam and the seaweed swayed to the rhythm of the waves,
Out on the shore, the people lingered, surfers rode the waves, people snorkled in the shallows,

No one could know the wrath and the fury, that lingered like the coming of tomorrow,
People left their homes, and made their way to safety,
They boarded up their work and houses, hoping it would suffice,
