When Dad Gets Drunk

I hate it when dad gets drunk

he acts like a mad old chipmunk

not that he hurts anyone

I just don't think it's fun.

He starts to whistle

and sing loudly

all the words that he

says sound very silly

and that's when I start

to feel a little uneasy.

During dinner time

instead of eating

he covers his face

and starts snoring.

When Mum pokes him

dad is laughing

he looks up at the ceiling

and announces solemnly

'I have paws!'

Mum is disgusted and gets a cup

fills it with water

and then she pours

it over my father

'Wow!' exclaimed Dad

'I'm alive! I'm not dead!'

he is I'm afraid to say

my dad who has gone mad!
