Reflections 260303
I was standing at the bus stop
Staring out at the pouring rain
Mitch was fretting,
He thought I would be
Angry at the delay due to weather
But the light came for me
In the form of your phone call.
The real surprise came when
You called again, and
Turned up.
I still remember
The pounding excitement
The wanting to just
See you again, yet
So afraid
You would see my desire for you
In my eyes.
So tiring, this
Masquerade of emotions
Hiding my affections
Watching and not watching you
For some sign or indication
That you feel something too.
Strange, then
That descent of zeal
Into quietness,
A gentle contentment
Just in knowing
You are near.
I could almost feel
Domestic.
