After a day's worth of chilled bedlam
I look towards silence, dark, and calm
I seize the comfort of my bed
Heavy eyed, I lay my head
Down on my pillow and I wait
For my worries to abate
And for sleep to overcome
Insomnia to be succumbed
I want to dream
I have to leave
This earth
Or else I'll scream
Bowler hats and artful hands
June dead suns and words
That mean so much and nothing
Somber songs the drunken sing
Early sunsets and white beach sands
Crawling, running into things
Dead ends lead on forever
Continuity is severed
