FROSTED STARS

Somehow, tonight, the stars are
coated in frost,
The pavement is but a pane
of ice
As we carefully tread through
this darkness.
Icicles mourn as they
glance down from the moon,
Yet they fail to pierce
this silenced heart.
Our voices are mere echoes
in this silver world,
And time is melting but
flows as slush;
Unclear as mud in the
snow.
We can't find the path
that we need to take.
So, let golden stardust
ignite the lanterns on this
darkened lane,
And hold on tightly as
we run through misty twilight,
Then maybe we will make it,
To the place
where we want to be.
