Chapter 12: Strange World
Leil held on tightly to Silver. He knew only that a bright light had surrounded them and that they were going somewhere. Anywhere, Silver had said.
Just where was anywhere?
The light faded away after some time and Leil could see. He looked down at Silver and saw he was unconscious. Leil lowered himself and Silver to the ground. Then he looked around.
It looked like they were in some kind of a glade. Every where he looked, it did not look like he was on planet earth to him. The trees, if that was what it was were blue in color, the color of gems. And the 'grass' was ….brown? This was just too weird.
Come to think of it, Leil thought, about almost everything was the color of some kind of gemstone. Not that it was bright or anything, there were dull stones. It was just weird. Where were they?
Leil was getting a bit worried. He looked down at Silver. He hoped Silver knew where they were because if they had landed at an unfriendly territory, they would be in very big trouble.
They could be killed, or tortured, or become a slave.
Leil hit his head. He told himself to stop thinking stupid thoughts.
After a while, Leil had to do something. He got up and walked among the trees, exploring this new place.
He saw what looked like fruits hanging from the 'trees' and picked one gingerly. It was pink in color. Leil looked at it apprehensively then sighed. He was getting hungry. One bite wouldn't hurt, would it?
Leil opened his mouth and took a bite. He chewed it and swallowed it.
"This is good!" Leil said out loud.
He picked a good handful and went back to where he had left Silver to sleep off his power surge. He left the fruits close by him and went to look for a source of water next.
Leil opted to try his luck. He closed his eyes and just turned around in a circle. When he opened his eyes, he was looking at the side of the glade that held next to no 'trees' at all.
Oh, well. Walk.
Leil started walking. When he was about two hundred feet away from their 'landing point' Leil thought he heard some running water. He wasn't sure though. With this place, Leil couldn't be sure of anything.
He walked towards the sound. And found something of the equivalent of water. The water was …of all things black. …Leil tasted it and it tasted like water too. Adams Ale was more like it…pure water.
Leil scratched his head and wondered how to carry some water back to the glade. He looked around.
And froze.
A…man was standing at the other side of the river.
He was beautiful. As beautiful as a god. The man had long flowing dark red hair, the color of blood and matching eyes. His skin was pale as if he didn't go out into the sun a lot. And he was wearing some kind of garment around his body. It was like one of those one piece robes that go over your head instead of tying it. It fit him perfectly. The garment was black with thick gold linings on the edges.
Leil gulped. He slowly backed away from the man, not wanting to get into some kind of trouble.
"Stop," the man said in English.
Leil froze again. Did he just speak in English? Wasn't this a different universe, planet, dimension or something?
"I mean you no harm," the man said from across the river.
"U-uh, just where is this place, and who are you?" Leil asked.
"This dimension is called Fonas," the man said. "And it would be more interesting to ask, who are you?" the man asked.
"I'm Leil," Leil said. "My boyfriend is still in the glade."
'Whoops. Why did he say that?'
"Lee-il?" the man said, trying to pronounce his name, "and what is a boyfriend?"
"No, it's Lay-il," Leil said, "A boyfriend is someone you're going out with, or sleeping with."
"Ah- a mate?" the man asked.
Leil laughed a bit. "I don't know about that. We're still new at this. But I guess you could say that. By the way, you haven't said what your name is."
"I am Hilel. The male god of the Sha'ni," the man said this as if he was just stating a fact, not bragging about his status or anything.
"You're a what? Who are the Sha'ni?" Leil said, really puzzled.
"The Sha'ni is not so different from you humans physically, but my people have the ability to do or make anything with the will of their mind and heart alone. In that they are different," the God Hilel said.
"That sounds like Silver," Leil mused.
"Silver? Who is this Silver?" Hilel asked, looking very interested.
"In my world, he would be called a psychic. He has the power to teleport, telepath, telekinesis, telekinetic…you name it," Leil told him, "He's the strongest in my world."
"What are these te-telepaf thing?" Hilel asked.
"It means you can go talk to some one else with your mind. Teleport is going somewhere with your mind, telekinesis is the ability to make fires, telekinetic is being able to move objects with your mind alone," Leil explained.
"He does sound like he could be one of the Sha'ni," Hilel agreed.
"Yeah, but the way you said it, I think there might be slight difference," Leil said.
"So where is this Silver?" Hilel asked.
Leil suddenly remembered that Silver was in the glade alone. He needed to get back to Silver before he woke up and found himself alone. Silver might panic if he was not there.
"Do you have something in which I can carry the water in?" Leil asked urgently.
"Silver is in the glade and he might wake up at anytime. I have to get back."
Hilel stepped into the stream and walked across to Leil, handing him a beaker-like container.
"Thanks," Leil said as he filled it with water and started to walk back into the glade.
"So he is in there?" Hilel said, walking with Leil.
"Silver? Yes. He used up a lot of energy taking us here from so far away. He's sleeping to renew his power," Leil told him.
"Ah…I see…"
so, how'd you like it? R& R PLEAZE
