Let me into heaven

Lately
I've been feeling kinda down,

Since that one little dream broken into fragments
By the tormenting alarm,

Lately
I've been wishing
For another coffee-cup, whirlwind, heaven-snippet day
With you,

And I've used up all my ticket stubs
Trying to get around the back door

Seems without you the gaurds won't
Overlook me anymore.

I've kissed every inch of the chill breeze travelling
South without me,

And I've tried to breathe every last drop of the breeze
Blowing warm and dry from the summer
That isn't over where you are.

I was kinda praying for a news-flash, tree-tearing hurricane
To swoop me outta here

But all I got is constant drizzle battering my eyelids,
Filling up this muddy rut I dug myself.

On the T.v set last night
Watching rain-splattered winds tear through some state a million miles away
I thought I saw you
Open up an umbrella and catch the fast ride
Into the skies,
But you were gone in the blink of an eye.

Pulling that wooly hat down
To my eyes
I hurried outside and tried to get up there,

But they aint gonna let me into heaven
Without you
And I am never gonna let you come back.

All the cream in my coffee cup
Is melted
The smell of pastry is getting stale
And I just got too tired
Waiting for you
Here in ever lasting
Grey town
Winter,
Missing you and your summer.

So I'll hang around, hitching lifts,
Trying to get someone to
Let me into heaven.
