My Angel
Let my angel,
Spread her wings.
They're made of stardust,
And pretty things.
She flies for me,
Into the night.
Protecting from a distance,
I'm always in sight.
Her arms they glisten,
With a protective shield.
Nothing can touch me,
Alone in her field.
She hears my cries,
And dries my tears.
She listens at night,
As I whisper my fears.
She prays for me,
And I for her.
My life is small,
When compared to her.
Coaxing me,
To greater things.
She can heal,
My broken wings.
She sets me on fire,
And helps me take flight.
She hands me the sword,
And teaches me to fight.
Truth, she promises.
Strength, she gives.
Every day,
For our family, she lives.
We're blessed with an angel,
A protector in white.
In the light she's a mother,
In the darkness, she's light.
YabouA dedication to my own mother, who spends far too much time worrying about my sister and I.
