MY SCARF IS A SIGN
I've got this scarf on my head,
It is a message, nothing has to be said.
Don't come to conclusions because of how I am dressed,
Don't think I'm oppressed 'cos I know I've been blessed.
It's all different out here in the West,
But I know all this life is for a greater test.
My scarf a sign of me following orders of God,
So understand that I am not odd.
What is wrong with you that tell us to show our hair?
To let it loose, for all to see, makes us feel bare.
Whatever happened to freedom of dress?
Why do you want us to take of our scarves, make our clothing less?
Don't you know that freedom is not just a word?
It is much, much more, so let my views be heard.
Don't you know that this scarf is a sign?
One of the laws of this religion that is mine!
I've got this scarf on my head,
It is a message, nothing has to be said.
