Dreams Ever After

Karen Rose

NOTES: I wrote this for my english folio last year when I was 18 and it's the last one I wrote. I had just seen a program about a woman who had terminal cancer and this came to me

And the night, tinted in silver lining

A haze above the hills I sit

And to this end I feel incomplete

Watching as the world below me moves

They don't wonder at all, they don't dream

Endlessly they go on but never forward

As the winter mists greet the moon

I watch as they await tomorrow

I fear as I cry for yesterday

Times long gone, but never forgotten

An endless dream of happiness

The moon sails over me, watching

The stars shine down forever, and smile

Each holds a prayer, a wish in the dark

The snow falls, the night ends

But ever after the dreams go on
