Rebecca sighed as she checked another day off the calendar. Two weeks. Two, long weeks without the guys around. During that summer, Rebecca went to summer school three days a week and the rest of her time was spent working at her new job at an fairly rich community, old folks home. Allison went to her Aunt Judy's home in New York City for summer vacation and she sent emails each week describing all the new clothing she bought or comparing how much Cameron looks better than the guys at the clubs she and her Aunt went to.
Damien, Josh, and Cameron had their own jobs to worry about, so they're off in around the country dealing with potential clients. True to his word, Cameron started off in Hollywood, looking at movies and televisions he might wanted to act in. He had to bribe the school to let him do his schoolwork on the road. Damien and Josh stuck together and went over to Europe touring all the countries with Amy to find jobs that could spark their interests. Damien also would send emails each week, and once and a while Rebecca would receive a package with a gift from the country he would be traveling in.
Kale is actually teaching at a local college as a teacher's assistant for a pretty good wage. He would come over once and while with Jason to do homework together or just hang out. Jason himself also went to summer school with Rebecca, but he quit his job as stripper and went to work at a local club downtown as a bus boy. On his day's off at night he would go to another school to learn bartending. He hopes by the end of the summer he could graduate from the bar school and work at the same club just as a bartender to make a better pay.
Everyone was supposed to come back the day before the new school year would start, which was only two days away for Rebecca. She took her time getting out of bed and dressing for work. She loved working at the Mary's Home for the Elderly. She was very good at being patient with everyone and loved listening to all the adults stories about their past lives. Rebecca's father was wary of her having a job, because of her failing grades, but he let her work anyway. He had come back and was home a lot more often that made Rebecca happier.
Rebecca made it to work a few minutes early and began cleaning the recreation room for bingo and poker later on. An elderly lady by the name of Betsy Higgbes comes over to Rebecca slowly, a gleam in her eye.
"Rebecca! Oh darling, is it Friday already?" Betsy said, sitting at one of the round tables.
Rebecca grinned, "Yeah, it seems that the week has flown by. How are you Mrs. Higgbes."
"Please child, I told you call me Betsy. You are just too polite for your own good. I'm doing quite fine. My grandson came over yesterday for a visit."
Rebecca came to sit with Betsy, waiting for more people to come. "How old is your grandson?"
"Eighteen. He is such a handsome young man. I bet you would swoon on sight if you saw him."
Rebecca nervously chuckled, "I guess."
Betsy smiled, "You know, I think you two should meet one day. I'll tell him to come over on one of the days you are here."
"Sure. From what I hear from you he must be a really nice guy."
Betsy winked, "True me dear, he is so much more than you could dream for. I'll go call him up right now to set the date."
Before Rebecca could stop her, Betsy hobbled out of the room even with her bad knee. She shook her head. As long as it makes her happy, she thought.
More adults came into the room, already socializing with each other. So Rebecca started all the activities and for the rest of the day stood on the sidelines watching. Greeting with a few of her regulars as she walked around the room. At the end of her shift, she checked out and headed home. Sighing, she reaches her house after a long walk and went in. She chucked her bag and her top uniform jacket on the stairs, and dragged herself by the livingroom to the kitchen. She heard someone cough but before she was so tired she just went into the kitchen to get a drink and go to sleep. Rebecca was snapped out of her own thoughts when two strong arms wrapped around her waist.
A nose rubbed against her neck, "Hey, aren't you going to stop and say hi to all of us."
Rebecca turned around and was wrapped into the arms of a grinning Damien. She squealed and hugged him tight. Looking over his shoulder, she saw the rest of her friends in the livingroom she just passed. Damien let go of her as she and Allison hugged each other laughing.
Rebecca each one of them before asking, "Why are you guys here early, not that I'm not happy for it."
Allison said, "We decided to make it a nice surprise to come back now. Plus, it can give us a few days to get ready for school."
Rebecca smiled and with the help of Allison and Kale the three of them made dinner and the others started to play video games. Dinner was set out and all the boys began stuffing themselves and Allison and Rebecca chatted causal about the new school year.
After dinner, the guys volunteered to clean up. While no one was watching, Damien pulled Rebecca away to outside. Once there, Damien pulled her into another embraced.
"Boy, have I missed you!"
Rebecca grinned, "Me too. Was your trip a waste?"
Damien smirked, "Before I tell you anything I must do this…"
He cupped Rebecca's face, and pulled her gentle into a butterfly kiss. She closed her eyes, savoring his taste and the very light tingle that went down to her toes. He pulled away first as she reopened her eyes.
"That is so sweet."
She chuckled and hit him lightly, "I could say the same for you. So tell me…"
They walked over to the bench and sat together, hand in hand.
Damien sighed, "It was complete failure for me."
Rebecca frowned, "And for Josh?"
"He didn't find anything to his liking, so he decided he wants to publish a novel."
She was shocked, "A novel? What is it going to be about."
"Dunno. I'll I know is that on the plane ride home he told me he was going to publish a book."
"Hmm. I think you know more to this," Rebecca said, looking over Damien.
He just grinned and shook his head, "If I did, I'm not telling you."
"Oh, you're mean."
Damien snuggled into the base of neck, making Rebecca coo. They stayed that way for a while, almost falling asleep. Rebecca, with still many questions on her mind, kept her mouth shut as she saw him close his eyes. Josh came out looking for them, and stopped as he saw them together. He was going to leave when she waved him over to sit.
As Josh sat, Rebecca whispered, "What is this I heard about you publishing a book? I never knew you could write…at least something you would want to bind."
Josh rubbed the back of his neck, "Well, I didn't really write a book. I was thinking…"
"About what?"
He whispered really quietly, "About publishing one for your novels."
Rebecca smiled, "Oh, that's nice." Then it clicked. She stood up suddenly and screamed, "WHAT!?" Shocking Damien from his sleep as he fell to the ground. He moaned in pain but Rebecca stood staring at Josh, who was grinning sheepishly.
AN: I'm BAAAACCCCCKKK… with the sequel I promised. I don't know if it will be as good as the last one, but I'm just writing this so I can fill in the blanks I never was able to finish in the first book. Lots of new character, some old, and more not only into Rebecca and Damien's relationship but Cameron and Allison's too. I have a lot of work this year to do in and out of school, but I will try my best to keep chapters flowing each week, maybe. Tell me, do you think this is a nice start? I think so. Like I mentioned before, Rebecca sort of represents me, so I do work at an old folk's home and I did bind 'Let Me Love You' so basically whatever happens in my life, you'll probable see a twisted version in the story. Peace to all. Oh and this time, try not a hassle me too much on grammar, I just want to get the story out of my mind and unto paper before I go back and rewrite it. When it is finish I must probable will go back and touch it up, but I'm still working on fixing the first story so we'll see.
