Chapter 35: Always You, Only You
Christian blinked as he tried to take all of what just happened in. Xavier had just kissed his lips and gave him the key. When they had looked into each other's eyes, he had sensed love.
He was immediate to doubt the engagement Madison had told him about. He was immediate to see that he was being set up. Blaise had told Christian that it was suspected that Madison was in love with the vampire. Perhaps she had just wanted of get rid of him.
The boy slowly stood up, feeling now that his physical capabilities were charged freshly once more. He stared at the door, knowing that his freedom awaited him….
Yet, how free can I be when I still love Xavier so? Especially now that I am almost positive that he loves me…I felt that he did. If I leave now, I'll only think of him every day, dream of him every night. He will be my only thoughts, my only anything. I either need him or closure before I can leave. If he doesn't love me, then I'll free myself tomorrow. But today is a day for me to take one more chance on this love. I'll never forgive myself if I don't. This may just save me. This may just make me. If this love is real, then this is fate's time to do something right for it.
Determined, Christian neglected the door with no importance and practically sprinted up the steps. It was only moments before he was quickly pacing down the hall, his heart leading him towards the only bedchamber that mattered to him, that would ever matter to him.
But he paused as he heard the slow music coming out of the room that had been his. His heart melted and a sad smile curved his lips. Xavier was in his room. He almost wanted to roll in this realization that really meant so much, but he couldn't stand the wait. He put the key into the lock and soon found himself staring at a confused immortal, with tears streaked down his immaculate face. Christian pulled and locked the door behind him as he stepped inside.
"Christian, what are you doing here? If you don't go soon, it'll be too late."
"Are you going to marry Madison?" Christian had so many things that he wanted to spill to his vampire love, but this question seemed to be what needed to be cleared up the fastest. The confused expression that claimed Xavier's face gave Christian a bit of hope.
"What? No! Where in hell did you hear that?" he asked, though his voice was soft despite its shock.
"She told me. Then she gave me the key. That's how I got it."
Xavier's jaw dropped a little, as irritation crossed his face.
"That bitch. She just had to get rid of you when I was thinking of giving you my heart again."
It all made sense now to both of the males in the room. This recent stunt was the product of Madison's selfish desire. As angry as he was, however, Xavier decided to deal with her later. He brought the most current issue back up.
"Christian, you need to go."
"No."
Christian crawled on the bed slowly, next to Xavier. This was it. These were the defining moments. His lips grazed Xavier's neck slowly, his hands wandering towards his gorgeous face and long black hair.
"What are you doing?" Xavier asked softly, stifling a moan as Christian pressed his body against the immortal's. It all felt so right as longing grew inside them. Christian didn't answer, but kept his slow kisses coming, now connecting to Xavier's jaw line.
"It's not wise to seduce a vampire," Xavier began, quickly moving and pinning Christian down on the bed, "They may want more than you're willing to give."
The scene was reminiscent of the only other time they had gotten intimate. That time had gone wrong. As their gazes burned intensely, Christian silently prayed that this one wouldn't follow suite.
"Take whatever you want, X. Just want me," Christian said softly. Xavier hesitated for a moment before bringing his lips to meet Christian's. Their kiss was slow at first, romantic and wistful, but lust and desire that had been kept away for far to long eventually took over. Soon Christian's hands were tangled in Xavier's hair and Xavier's hands were wandering freely while their bodies rubbed against each other in yearning. They moaned into each other's mouths as they kissed. It was all so passionate, which was why Christian got so confused when Xavier got off of him and scrambled off the bed.
"Xavier, why-"
"You need to go!"
"I don't want to go!"
"Why? You don't belong here, Christian. You're too good, too young, and too innocent for this place. Get out while you can. This is your chance to be free." Tears were shining in Xavier's eyes, and Christian knew that the vampire really didn't want him to go, but he wanted him to be free at the same time.
"I'll never be free, Xavier, because I'll always be your prisoner, your hostage. Because I love you Xavier. You're amazing and I love you. It will always be you, and it will only be you. I am more free here with you, than I am outside without you. I breathe you, I dream you, I see you, I hear you, my life is you."
Christian's voice was strung of pure love. Xavier stepped forward slowly, a maelstrom of emotion fighting within him. He couldn't ask the human to leave anymore. Selfish or not, he felt that he need Christian as much as Christian made it clear that he need Xavier.
The vampire's hand graced the side of Christian's face. The human boy closed his eyes at the touch, only opening them again at the sound of Xavier's alluring voice.
"I love you too, Christian. You're my heart's perfect defined. Your soul and your beauty make my heart's reflection. From the moment our eyes met, I knew it deep inside. I knew that you would be the only person that could break this regret for living through towards immortality and not dying instead. You have become a bit of every piece I am."
Christian drew closer, pressing their bodies together again. This time it was he who kissed Xavier's lips, and this time the kiss stayed romantic, and not as lustful as the other had been.
And suddenly, for a moment, everything was perfect.
