With In The Shadows

Chapter One...

Underneath the shadows

Of a terrible dream.

They young man looked out upon the city in shear disgust as he stood on the out skirts of on top of the cliff. A dark cloud hung menacingly over the city as the wind tried so blow him away into the city. He braced his self as the gray cloud shifted in an unnatural way as if you he was to sit under a tree in spring and the wind was blowing ever direction. The gray seemed climbed up his body then everywhere around him was gray. He had a choker with a pad lock with wires running up to a set of earpiece.

Seems this city is under the darkness also. I can see it the oxygen less air. Everybody down there, they live in a dream world. Suspended forever. I seem them dreaming that it a bright sunny day. It looks like I might have come to late.I can hear something!? He thought to his self-closing his eyes waiting for the sound to come again.

"Please I want out, of this dream. I no longer want to dream. I want to be able to see this word not be restrained with in these four walls." A voice whispers were cared on the winds.

Maybe, I'm not to late. He thought as he opened his blue eyes. The wind blow harder as if wanting him to go into the city so he stopped bracing his self letting the wind carry him as if he had just started running then leaped off the cliff. His feet soon reached this polluted earth, of the empty city except for the shadow of those how were sleeping.

I would of expected more then one survivor even if there is one. This city might want to calling me to come so it can cast me into the shadow like those before me, that were weak. But I won't fall to this city no matter what.

"What do you mean fall to this city?" A girl asked holding her little brothers hand on the sidewalk.

She had bright blonde hair the make corn jealous of her hairs golden shine. She looked like a high school student with the cloths see was wearing.

"Kyoko's the name and this is my little brother oshi." She said smiling as they stood there.

Kyoko's little brother looked the same as his sister; he must of been in the 3rd grade. His eyes were a pastel gray unlike his sisters who were a grayish green.

He didn't want to speak he turned around to only bump into another guy. That when his mind finally clicked to notice his surrounding. The grass was green and there was all color everywhere.

"What the hell! This stupid city!" He said as he looked at the people walking around like there was nothing wrong.

"Your weird would you like dinner?" Kyoko asked giggling at his action probably thinking he was weird.

"Yes, mister. It will be really fun we haven't had guest in months." The kid was very quiet when he spoke.

"Don't you see it!? Come on are you blind! When I can here first everybody was!? I mean it was all shadows!" He yelled trying to figure what seemed so a miss.

"There's no shadows here? I have no clue what your talking about! Hay, you never told me your name! How rude." She whined, as he wasn't paying attention to her.

"My name? It's Ryu." He's said staring at oshi how seem to be looking at his padlock choker.

"Ryu you can stay with up forever with in these four walls of this city. If you save me, I'll help you. You can have the peace you so rightful deserve." Kyoko said as her voice turned an unnatural sad.

Ryu turned to get kyoko and ask her what is this nonsense she was saying. But as soon as he got close her and her brother feet left the ground and they appeared in the distance farther away.

"Wait Kyoko! Wait!" That when he realized the truth behind the whispers that where being carried on the wind to him.

He felt something tightens around his waist then down his legs till he couldn't move even if he tried with all his might.

"I refuse to be taken by this city! Your not human kyoko! You're the voice of a machine. You were the one whispering to me, to come! I refuse to stay under this spell." Ryu yelled as he tried to move his body once more.

"I must survive I thought that you would never fall for such an easy ploy." The voice came out of kyoko but it wasn't her voice.

"You swallowed that girl and little boy so you could use them! You malfunctioning mechanical monster. I'm so out of here sucker!" Ryu opened his eyes wider as his eyes were easily to see over his sunglasses.

His pupils changed into slits that looked like cats pupils; his blue became stronger and the specks of gray became sharper. He stood there grinning with in the wires that were wrapped around him.

"What are you smiling about. You can't get out of here! What ryu? Are you thinking of a nice dream?" The machine said as it started tightening it grip on ryu.
