This is a rather stupid poem I wrote…it's very pointless. Please don't drink and drive, everyone.
If only you knew I loved you…
If only you knew that you are the one…the special one for me…
If only you knew I watch you every chance I get…
If only you knew I loved you…
I watched you have romances
And date her
And break my heart
Again and again
If only you knew I loved you…
If only you knew that you break my heart without knowing…
If only you knew that every word you speak is bliss to my ears…
If only you knew I loved you…
I watched you grow
As we passed from elementary to middle to high school…
And then I watched…
As you dropped her
If only you knew I loved you…
If only you knew how happy I was when you broke up with her
If only you knew how many times I considered telling you and then didn't
If only you knew I loved you…
I watched you learn to drive
And flaunt your Lexus
And your friends go crazy because they wanted that car
And her still wanting and watching you…
If only you knew I loved you…
If only you knew how much I wanted to sit next to you in that car
If only you knew how many times I cursed whenever you drove away
If only you knew I loved you…
I watched you driving away from school
And I decided to tell you that night
The last night before graduation
I walked to your house, three miles
And waited on your porch when your parents weren't there
If only you knew I loved you…
If only you knew how many times I wanted to mute my heart for the loud beatings
If only you knew how cold I got, sitting there at night
If only you knew I loved you…
I waited all night and nobody came
So I was about to go home
When your mom came
She asked, "Who is it?"
"I'm…I'm one of your son's friends," I answered.
"Were you waiting here all night?" she asked.
"Yes," I answered.
"Oh, honey, I'm so sorry but my son…"
If only you knew I loved you…
If only you knew how I wanted to run away for embarrassment
If only you knew that it rained that night but I stayed for you
If only you knew I loved you…
"Oh, honey, I'm so sorry but my son…"
She choked on her own tears, your mother…
"But a drunk driver crashed into his car and he died."
And she sobbed and sobbed and I didn't know what to do.

If only you knew how I wanted to scream and cry for you
If only you knew that I cried as much as your mom
If only you knew I loved you
So where are you now?
I missed my chance to tell you that I loved you so much
I had six years to tell you…and I never did…
I cry and cry now…

If only you knew that I loved you more than I loved myself
