Long Farewell
Amazing grace you've left me behind to picture a world close to the heartache of leaving. Soured by the sweetener in my blood, alone again to taste the salt upon my lips. Soft words built only for a moonlit sky to dance upon lovers' wings; I see you wrapped there in sleep. Purity in the soft earth, a never changing mood beneath my feet slumbering away the stains of dawn. A gathering of lavender embalmed between your hands; a love unknowing of the windswept swiftness that carried my soul away. Lithe fingers splayed over life demure, a rift from ages ago comes unto now. A parting meant for the eyes which have become shaded with the brine of the sky; hapless kiss from a long farewell. I wait in the river behind your fair goodbye.
