Pretty as a Flower
Pretty as a flower,
But something's missing,
A smile.
Without a smile she does what she's told.
Nothing for her,
Ballet- mom
Study- dad
What she wants to do is nothing she's doing,
She wants a place for her and no one else.
No one really knows what she wants,
For she, herself doesn't know.
She never speaks of anything,
Never complains,
Not a word passes her lips,
Inside she wants to scream,
She wants to run free,
Like the other girls do,
She won't.
She's afraid of what her parents think.
Will they be mad?
Will they be happy?
Will they not love her anymore?
Is this just a test?
Is it a test to see when she will stick up for herself?
Or are her parents trying to give her the life they wish they had?
