Moon illuminates
Thin strands of floating silver
With vigilant eyes
The moon gives way to darkness
But a faint red glow remains

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This tanka was inspired by the sight of a spider-web one night. Within it was a fairly large spider, which is hardly surprising, but its body was tinged with a reddish glow. It was most curious.
