November

I think

It's time

To start once more

To clean a weary slate

Close up the door

Turn off the light

And leave the burning grate.

Dissolve the memory

Of being here

And helpless in the rain

And gathering and fetching knives

That would not stop the pain.

I think it's time

To start anew

Just let's begin again

I think it's time to leave my seat

On this now-empty train.

It might be time

To say much less

To quit all ill-made ties

I think it time to forsake games

To pack away the dice

I think it's time to draw the blinds

And lay upon the bed

To breathe in motionless recluse,

To rest a jaded head

It's time I think

To fall asleep

To gently slip away.

I think it time

Now time is here

To let time end the day.
